Review Asus K50IP Notebook (K50IP-T450SCGDWW)

Appearance

The ASUS K50IP laptop model looks a little like the brothers in the ASUS K50 line. The idea of the manufacturer was to release another inexpensive laptop with good performance for work. The model is easy to operate, reliable and, in principle, is designed for office work.

The manufacturer has not forgotten about its technologyInfusion when designing this laptop. So ASUS K50IP was equipped with a special protective coating, which in turn copes with the task of protecting the case from minor scratches and bumps. The company claims that even after years of operation, the look will not lose its appeal, hopefully so. To be honest, the laptop is actually equipped with a good and reliable cover, and this is not an unimportant detail, especially if you often travel with the computer.

The lid texture was named Domino... This texture is great for laptops of this class. It is not complicated, not striking, and at the same time gives the laptop elegance along with rigor. The lid, as well as the inner surface, on the so-called work platform, are painted in high-gloss. At first glance, this is all pretty nice, but when you realize that fingerprints constantly remain on such a surface, it becomes not so pleasant. So not all that glitters is gold. It's good that the keys are made of matte plastic.

The design is generally good and thoughtful. The glossy casing gave the laptop a respectable look. The quality of the materials that make up the laptop is also pleasing, which again gives ASUS K50IP a plus.

Connectors and ports

On the left side of the laptop there are two USB 2.0 ports, which are designed to connect devices such as a mouse, speakers, printer, flash drive, etc. A little to the left is the DVD Super Multi Writer, and this device will allow you to enjoy using discs.

On the right side of the laptop, you can see two more USB 2.0 ports, one VGA connector for connecting an external monitor, which is very convenient. Also on this side is a network port and a pair of standard audio outputs. The front panel was equipped with a card reader. This device is capable of working with various memory cards, this little thing greatly simplifies the work with flash drives and saves our time.

Display and sound

The laptop is equipped with a 15.6-inch widescreen display with a 16: 9 aspect ratio, and the display is covered with a glossy surface, which fits perfectly with the case. This screen has a standard high definition resolution of 1366 × 768 pixels, which will allow you to watch movies and videos of high quality. The brightness is added by the LED backlight, which was equipped with the display of this model, a good quality of the backlight is that it uses little energy. All this gives us good screen brightness. The contrast is pretty good, especially considering that this is a budget laptop model.

The good news is that the manufacturer has installed a very good and high-quality speaker system in this budget laptop. The speakers are built into the front edge. You can also note the sound quality, to be honest, we can say that it is at its best. In addition, this acoustics is also quite loud. Speakers can provide the comfort of watching movies and listening to music in a small room. In general, we note that the display and acoustics deserve attention to themselves.

Keyboard and touchpad

The ASUS K50IP is classified as an office machine, which means that the keyboard should have large keys, full and responsive. As for me, this keyboard has all the qualities to be called ideal. It is large and has a separate digital block. All buttons are wide and soft when pressed, which makes for a comfortable typing experience.

The keyboard is a standard layout. At the first time of use, arrows may cause you a slight inconvenience, they are quite close to the keyboards, so sometimes you may not get there. The keys are also distinguished by their noiselessness, which will easily allow you to work at night without worrying that you are making noise.

All over the surface, the touchpad is covered with small holes. The manufacturer explains this in such a way that these holes make the manipulator more responsive and faster. To be honest, the manipulator is quite responsive, one might even say that it is pleasant to deal with him. The platform of the manipulator is located slightly lower than the base, but in a small hole, which makes it clear where its edges are. Below the manipulator there are two shiny control buttons, they are shiny and stand out against the general background. The buttons work fine. Slightly spoiled the situation, the glossy finish, on which fingerprints remain. Let's note the plastic, from which the parts of the manipulator and keyboard were made, it is of high quality and pleasant to the touch.

Battery

The laptop has a normal battery, which can provide about 2, 3 hours of battery life, albeit in reading mode. This result of work without recharging was achieved not only thanks to the battery, but also thanks to the processor, video card and screen, which use little energy during operation. For a car of this class, this is the expected result of battery life. In principle, three hours is a pretty good result, of course, for long trips the battery will not be enough for a long time, but if you use the capacity sparingly, then you can live.

Performance and capabilities

This review presents the Asus K50IP (K50IP-T450SCGDWW). This notebook has a Pentium Dual Core T4500 processor from Intel with a clock speed of 2.3 GHz. The processor is computationally and fast. The processor has enough power to perform ordinary tasks and calculations, and also shows itself quite well in working with video graphics.

To support the processor, a new 2 GB DDR3 memory was installed in the laptop. Someone may say that this is not enough for our time, but it depends on which side you look at. I think that for office work, the RAM is enough for the head, and if not, then you can always add up to 4GB. Also, a 320 GB hard drive was installed in the laptop. A hard drive will allow you to store movies, photos, music and various types of files on your computer, and with such a volume, the hard drive will be able to fit quite a lot.

The next important part of every computer is the graphics card. The Asus K50IP was equipped with not the worst video card GeForce G 205 from NVIDIA. This integrated video card GeForce G 205 will be able to provide you with comfortable work with photos, video files, watching high quality movies, but even not very demanding games will not work. Of course, you shouldn't expect much from it, because the video card is still integrated, but along with most video cards of this type, it is not very weak.

Output

ASUS K50IP is your typical office notebook. The laptop was not designed to work with complex graphics or computer games, it was designed to work with office applications and work on the Internet. Also worth noting is the protective coating of the case, stylish and classic design. Very good acoustics, which are also loud. The laptop has a good processor, although it does not differ in high performance, it is still not very bad. A significant disadvantage, of course, is a weak video card, but if you need a laptop to work with office applications, then you will not need a powerful video card.

We can confidently say that this laptop is the perfect combination of price and quality.
