Correct use of batteries

Cell Phone Batteries

Due to the manufacturing process, the electrodes of lithium-ion batteries are already half charged, however, a fresh battery should not be tested immediately under load. The lithium-ion battery needs to be fully charged first, because using the battery without the initial recharge will drastically reduce the user's available capacity.

After the first charging, it is advisable to completely discharge the battery. This is done to calibrate battery management systems. The battery is recharged immediately after discharge. Usually, one calibration cycle of 3 months is sufficient, therefore frequent full charges and discharges should not be carried out for lithium-ion cell phone batteries. Such cycles also help to correctly display the forecast of the remaining battery capacity. A very interesting fact for users and sellers: you cannot carry out full charge-discharge cycles more than three times in a row for a lithium-ion battery, because they can be fatal.

You should try to use batteries from the manufacturer of your mobile phone. The functions of the battery management system for mobiles are very curtailed and the charge is controlled by the phone recharging system, so a battery from another manufacturer will work less. This is also explained by the fact that the charging system does not know the characteristics of non-original batteries. You need to charge the phone before the battery level reaches the red mark and do not fully charge the phone battery. You cannot charge a battery that has just been in the cold until it warms up to a positive temperature - this is important for the safety of battery operation

At high temperatures, the aging effect of lithium-ion batteries increases, so the cell phone should not be kept close to heat sources. It can be not only direct sunlight or a heating radiator, but also the human body. Therefore, reducing the duration of calls on the mobile will not only preserve your health, but also extend the life of your battery.

Laptop Batteries

The laptop battery has a complete control system and this often allows the user not to worry about whether the battery is being used correctly. However, there are still a few things to keep in mind when working with a laptop.

When you turn on the laptop battery for the first time, you should fully charge it, and only then calibrate the control system. The battery is completely discharged by a constant load (you can enter the BIOS, disconnect the laptop from the network and leave it running until shutdown, because in many BIOS settings there is a special Calibration item that is designed to perform this task). Then you need to immediately charge the laptop battery after being completely discharged.

Once every 1-3 months, it is necessary to carry out such a calibration of the laptop battery. This is necessary in order to exclude the effect of "digital memory" - the process of operating from the battery gradually accumulates errors in determining the residual capacity, as a result of which the battery life of the laptop decreases.

There are utilities for setting the battery start level from some manufacturers. Basically, setting the level of permissible discharge - 40%, when the laptop battery is running from an uninterruptible power supply. Also keep the battery in a semi-discharged state. This will allow you to extend the battery life by 2 times.

There are also laptops that come with an extra battery. If you do not use it for a long time, you need to discharge the battery to 40%, pack it in a special plastic bag with a vacuum seal and leave it in a refrigerator at a temperature of 3-4 ° C.

Camcorder batteries

The rules for using camcorder batteries almost do not differ from the rules for using phone batteries. The only difference is the use of these devices in everyday life: it happens very rarely, and the cost of batteries is high, and due to the frequent appearance of various new models of video cameras, these batteries are difficult to find on sale over time. Therefore, to extend the life of such batteries, you need to pack them in a plastic bag with a vacuum seal and store in a refrigerator in a semi-discharged state at a temperature of 3-4 ° C. Then, before use, the battery must be fully charged, and do not allow the battery to be completely discharged during operation. As soon as possible, the battery should be recharged during operation.

These operating rules will well extend the life of your battery. Unfortunately, in life, everyone creates their own working conditions, which are often incompatible with the concept of the correct operation of high-tech things. When your battery does not work, you can always find a new one in our store at the lowest price.
