A not working printer is a serious problem if you work in an office. Of course, you can call a specialist, but first you should try to solve the problem yourself.
Connecting the Printer to a Computer
The first thing to check is the connection of the printer to the computer. If the contact simply departed, then the bosses are unlikely to understand why the company paid the foreman for the call. So check your USB connection. Remove the cable from the connectors, see if there is any dust there and insert it back. Does not work? Check the connection to other USB ports. If it does not work again, then take a working cable for the printer and connect with it. Doesn't work again? So the problem lies elsewhere.
Check printer driver
It is possible that when the computer was turned on, the printer was not recognized by it for some reason. Then you need to turn off your computer and printer. Then turn on both devices. If the problem is not resolved, then reinstall the driver. The program itself must either be pre-downloaded from the manufacturer's website, for example, for HP printers, this can be done here. Or use the disc that came with the printer.
So, if you have Windows 7, then go to the "Devices and Printers" section. Select the connected printer and select "Printer Properties" from the menu.
Next, go to the "Advanced" tab and select the following.
It should be noted that you may have a different printer control window. In any case, you need to look for the words "driver" and "change" (or "update").
Next, we reinstall the printer driver. Just in case, we reload both devices again.
If nothing came of it, then with a clear conscience we call the support service and call the wizard. Most likely the breakdown is serious.
