Boiling Point, the previous game released by Deep Shadows, has become the stereotype of a "lousy" but cute "squad. The explosive mixture of Deus Ex, Far Cry and GTA was somewhat tainted by obvious flaws. An incomplete list of what the first "patch" should have fixed: "the posters in the bar disappear when you turn away from them", "the dogs do not cast a shadow", "the jaguar hovers in the air near the treetops" ...
White Gold is a sequel to Boiling Point. The developers have gained a little more experience, and the team has grown to thirty people who are struggling not to step on the old rake.
The developers wanted to avoid not only blunders, but also less obvious flaws. The distances between the military bases were too great. You could get a task and get 20 minutes to the place where you kill someone in 2 minutes, and then go back. The developers have made a more "compact" game, and such that transport is always at hand if you need it. The scene also changes if the Boiling Point took place in the valley, then here we see a group of islands. Basically, getting off the island you start the game on will be the first task.
However, this is not just a polished Boiling Pointy, but something more. A simple RPG system to start with. As you level up, you can choose perks (there are about 30 of them in the list), each of which "personifies" your character. Thief skills determine the level of your ability to hack something (the lockpick can break at any time, and the above skills will lower the chance of this trouble). One skill even helps you absorb alcohol better and makes you more resistant to drinking.
The main attraction of White Gold is the freedom of the surrounding world. While the superficially similar Just Cause is happy to help you blow off steam, White Gold creates a more convincing ambience. Timeless carjacking (hello GTA) is deeply researched. The level of destructibility is generally high. There are 7 factions on the islands, whose attitudes towards you will change depending on your actions.
