Group review of a mid-range video adapter based on the Radeon HD6750 GPU. Part 1

Group review of a mid-range video adapter based on the Radeon HD6750 GPU.

In this group review, we will try to tell and test in as much detail as possible a variety of video cards based on the modern Radeon HD6750 graphics accelerator. In our market, these devices appeared relatively recently, immediately after the release of the new flagships of the 6000th line. He replaced the previous generation and received higher capabilities. So, the video accelerator Radeon HD6750 is built on the basis of the Juniper chip, which was used in the previous generation. By the way, it has absolutely identical characteristics. It is manufactured using a 40nm manufacturing process and has just over one billion transistors. The core has 720 universal shader units, 36 texture units and 16 rasterization units at its disposal. For interaction, the processor received video memory of the GDDR 5 standard, which is distinguished by high speed and bandwidth - 73.6 Gb / s. Connects them, fast enough, 128-bit data bus. As you can see, this accelerator is simply a renamed Radeon HD5750. Therefore, you should not expect a special increase in performance, and even more so it is generally inappropriate to upgrade from the previous model to this one. The level of electricity consumption also remained at the same level - 86 watts. There is also support for all additional proprietary technologies and the latest API DirectX 11. The developers simply did not change anything in a very successful and balanced video card, thereby prolonging its life. It boasts a very good level of performance, at a relatively low cost and low power consumption. The card will allow you to play any modern games at high / maximum detail and resolution settings. It is suitable for many users and, despite its availability, it can be an excellent foundation for a mid-range home gaming PC.

Sapphire Radeon HD6750 512 MB (11186-06)

This adapter is the most affordable on our market. It is built on the Radeon HD6750 graphics core and manufactured by Sapphire. The card looks good and is quite modern, but these are not its main qualities. It is built on a printed circuit board made of turquoise textolite and uses only high-quality, reliable elements and materials. Almost the entire front surface is hidden by the cooling system, which has good efficiency. The board has one 6-pin auxiliary power connector and two CrossFireX connectors. They are intended for building multiprocessor systems based on several such cards. To do this, you only need a corresponding motherboard with a couple of three PCI Express x16 slots and a special bridge connecting the video cards. It is often found in the configuration of video cards and even motherboards, but if not, then you can always buy it inexpensively in a specialized computer store. The dimensions of the video card are not very large. It will fit without any problems even in a medium-sized system unit. The only drawback is that it takes up two expansion slots. But, this is just our opinion, and for many it will not seem critical. The rear panel has three ports on its surface for outputting information to the display of a monitor or TV. This list includes all the most modern types of digital interfaces - these are DVI, HDMI and Display Port. They will help you connect absolutely any modern means of displaying information, and even several. The video card has support for proprietary Eyefinity technology. It is designed to distribute the image over the surface of several displays in order to increase the area of the visible image. The developers assure that this will positively affect labor productivity and increase the enjoyment of all modern computer games. The installed cooling system is very simple in its structure! It consists only of a simple, one-piece, cylindrical aluminum radiator. Its ribs are positioned in such a way that they create rays coming out of the base of the heat exchanger. Above it is an 80mm fan, covered with a black plastic shroud. The latter plays the role of protection and gives the device a certain character. In general, the cooling system is quite efficient and does not generate high noise levels. During testing, we managed to reach a GPU temperature of 68 degrees Celsius. This is a good result, which leaves a little headroom for overclocking the device. The hero of this test - Sapphire Radeon HD6750 512 MB (11186-06) operates at the nominal clock speeds. The core operates at 700 MHz, while the video memory chips operate at 400 MHz. By the way, their total volume is only 512 MB, which is not so much for today. As a result, the card does not work faster than the reference model, and in many cases is even inferior to it. This is due to the reduced amount of video memory! As a result, the price of the accelerator is several points lower than that of the full-fledged modifications. We can recommend this video card for assembling mid-level gaming systems, if a small monitor with a low resolution will work together with the system. Otherwise, it's better to pay a little extra and buy a full-fledged version with one gigabyte of video memory! The final choice is yours!

VTX3D VX6750 1GBD5-H

For its relatively low cost, the video card Radeon HD6750 from VTX3D can offer the most optimal set of features. It has a large amount of video memory of the most progressive and fastest standard, as well as a fairly high level of performance. As for the middle class, the video card is made of a fairly high quality. It is medium in size and occupies two expansion slots. The card is based on a red PCB board. It has a standard design and optimal placement of elements. Everything is done very efficiently and accurately, so there is nothing to complain about. The video card should serve its owner a very long and decent life. A 6-pin connector for additional power is soldered on the PCB, since with a power consumption of 86 watts, the capabilities of the PCI Express x16 bus are not enough. In addition, the device has nothing superfluous and unnecessary. Even the CrossFire function is implemented using a PCI Express interface slot. The back panel of the video card has collected as many as three video outputs - DVI, HDMI and VGA. All of them can work simultaneously thanks to the support of Eyefinity technology. It allows you to connect three monitors to the system at the same time and display the image in different modes. The device is cooled by an active system with a rather simple structure. At its base is an aluminum heatsink secured with four screws. Directly, it only contacts the GPU itself. The dissipation area of the heat exchanger is large enough, and a large, 80 mm fan is designed to cool it. It is integrated into a plastic housing that is fixed directly on top of our heat exchanger. The propeller is quite quiet in operation, even at solid rpm, and it creates a fairly large air flow. The fins of the heat exchanger are arranged in such a way that the air passing between them would also cool the memory chips and the power subsystem. In general, such a cooling system cannot be called the best, but it is enough for stable cooling of this device. As we have already said, this video card received a large amount of video memory - as much as 1024 megabytes. This is exactly what is needed for the modern user and all of today's games and applications. Moreover, the video memory chips used belong to the most progressive GDDR 5 standard. This means that they operate at the highest speed - 4600 MHz and provide high bandwidth - 73.6 Gb / s. Memory chips interact with the GPU using a 128-bit data bus. The GPU itself has very good characteristics and performance indicators. Its clock frequency is equal to 700 MHz, but there is also a good frequency headroom. In sum, all this allows you to comfortably play any modern video game without the slightest problems, but of course not at the maximum graphics settings. Ultimately, we can recommend this video card for building mid-range gaming systems. Moreover, the VTX3D VX6750 1GBD5-H video card is relatively inexpensive, has support for all innovative ATI / AMD technologies and even the latest API - DirectX 11. Recommended for purchase!

PowerColor HD6750 1 GB (AX6750 1GBD5-H)

Outwardly, not everyone will like this card! It is rather bulky and awkward, due to the plastic cover of the cooling system. But underneath all this is a fairly high-quality, fast and reliable device. These graphics cards are made by PowerColor and boast fairly balanced performance and average cost. It is based on a printed circuit board made of dark red textolite, on which the graphics processor itself, video memory chips and a fairly high-quality, reliable element base are located. The front surface is covered by the standard cooling system, or rather its casing. The dimensions of the device are not very large, and it will be possible to install it in almost any system case. The only thing is that it takes up as many as two expansion slots, which will prevent the installation of other devices. The accelerator is designed to work together with modern motherboards equipped with a PCI Express x16 interface bus. Since it consumes up to 86 watts of electricity, the accelerator needs additional voltage. For this, a special 6-pin connector is located at the front of the PCB. In addition, the device has nothing superfluous and unnecessary. The back of the video card is reserved for displaying the image on the monitor screen. She collected the entire modern set of interfaces, which included a pair of digital ports - DVI and HDMI, as well as analog VGA. The innovative HDMI connector has the ability to work with three-dimensional images. In addition, our hero Radeon HD6750 boasts support for Eyefinity technology, which allows you to connect up to three means of displaying information at the same time. This will triple the area of the visible picture and at the same time increase the level of labor productivity. But especially, this function should appeal to computer gamers. And we have no doubt about it! The installed cooling system is hidden under a special plastic casing that performs a protective function. It consists of an aluminum, one-piece heatsink designed to cool the GPU and a sufficiently large and quiet fan. The radiator has a sufficiently large dissipation area and straight, specially designed fins for blowing memory chips. In general, this system is quite effective, albeit simple, but it can stably cool the GPU even under maximum loads. The speed indicators of this accelerator are quite high. For this, we can thank a very successful graphics processor codenamed Juniper and modern GDDR 5 memory chips. The device operates with such a frequency formula - 700 and 4000 MHz, for the core and video memory chips. This allows it to show good results in performance and leaves a good frequency headroom for overclocking. The card will be able to launch any brand new game without any problems, but of course it will not allow you to fully enjoy the beauty of the graphics. But everyone can go from beginning to end! You just need to choose the optimal parameters! In general, the PowerColor card is quite successful. It has a large amount of video memory, support for DirectX 11 and other proprietary technologies, but most importantly - a democratic cost.
