HOW TO CHOOSE AN ELECTRIC FIREPLACE - types of fireplaces for an apartment and a house, which one is better to choose

In an electric fireplace, the decorative fire is so realistic that it is difficult to distinguish it from the real one, even from close quarters. And let hot coals not shoot in the fake hearth, but some models imitate the crackling of firewood. Logs in such a fireplace are modeled for different stages of combustion - from barely touched by a spark to embers covered with gray ash.

There are 7 types of electric fireplaces:

  • portable - lightweight and small. This is convenient to move from room to room:
  • corner saves space in the room;
  • built-in is mounted in furniture;
  • wall mounted is mounted on the wall. It looks like a plasma panel;
  • add-on - like a classic fireplace. Such models are found in the homes of aristocrats;
  • the island is installed in the middle of the room to heat the room;
  • double-sided is used as a partition between two rooms or zones.

Artificial fire consumes, on average, 200 watts of electricity - like an electric kettle. Models with a built-in electric convector operate in two heating modes with a power of 1 and 2 kW. They are capable of heating a room of 10-20 m². Some of them give warmth of a larger area (from 21 m²).

It's good if the model you like has a built-in thermostat. It doses the heating of the room. And thanks to the fan heater speed regulator, you can adjust the heating intensity for yourself.

Which electric fireplace is better to choose

Electric fireplaces are conventionally divided into two lines.

Hot spots with an ultrasonic steam generator

Using electrodes and a piezoceramic plate, they create mesmerizing tongues of fire.

  • When the fireplace is turned on, alternating current is applied to the electrodes and piezoelectric ceramics. An inverse piezoelectric effect occurs and the plate vibrates with the frequency of ultrasound.
  • Oscillations break the surface of the water into the smallest drizzle. It is held above the surface by air molecules until it evaporates.
  • The fog comes out of the distributor and is illuminated by four halogen bulbs. Visually, it looks like flowing tongues of flame. Fire as if alive. Some fireplaces imitate smoke.

There are no glowing or heating elements in the hearth. It is safe for children and animals.

Easy to use:

  • the reservoir is filled with water (it is possible from the tap);
  • installed in the chamber;
  • the electric fireplace turns on.

And that's all - admire the enchanting fire.

Hearths with Optiflame technology

Their peculiarity lies in the use of light that passes through a light filter. It is projected onto a mirror surface through a rotating perforated drum (with holes).

Some models use silk rags instead of a drum. By projecting, they create the effect of burning wood in the fireplace. The brightness of the backlight is adjustable in several steps - from simulating smoldering to a stormy fire.

The mechanism of the electric fireplace is disguised with protective glass. Thus, the hearth looks like a real wood-burning fireplace with a modern closed-type firebox. The visual effect is achieved with the correct placement of the fireplace - away from bright daylight.
