Review of the film Terminator 4: May the Savior Come.

During the rebel attack on the Skynet base, John Connor (Bale) learns that the machines that have unleashed the war are preparing for the production of a new generation of terminators - based on living people. At this time, the headquarters of the Resistance discovers a radio frequency capable of disabling hostile mechanisms, and John volunteers to test this in practice. The plan works, and the command decides to destroy the entire Skynet in one fell swoop. But Connor is categorically against this, since thousands of prisoners languish in the Skynet concentration camps, including Kyle Reese (Yelchin), the father of mankind's last hope.

It's time, finally, to come to terms with the fact that "The Terminator" will never be the way Cameron invented it - unless, of course, he returns to the project. In the meantime, the director of the original found a new toy for himself and hardly remembers the old one, Schwarzenegger rejected, Sarah Connor went into oblivion. And the copyright holders use the brand and rivet serials on the topic. However, loyal fans of the former dilogy, even after years, continue to spit saliva at Jonathan Mostow, and even poor McG are ready to tear to pieces. Like, where should he, with his track record, try to shoot the continuation of the series. Indeed, the candidacy of the author of Charlie's Angels came as a complete surprise to many. But the moral and financial support of eighteen producers, including the greats Mario Kassar and Andrew Vine, as well as the imagination of the writers of Rise of the Machines, should have become a reliable insurance for the former music video maker. But the miracle did not happen, and before us is just a technically flawless and spectacular fantastic action movie with a recognizable trademark in the title and the mention of names and surnames familiar from previous stories. Neither Worthington, nor Bale, nor Yelchin, with all the enthusiasm of their heroes in the struggle for the future, have carved monuments to the defenders of civilization from their images. And in the audience's perception, "May the Savior Come" will probably be located somewhere in the middle between "Transformers" and the sequels to "The Matrix".
