Review Dell Latitude E6510 Notebook

Latitude notebooks are made especially for corporate users. Therefore, this line includes many different laptops.

Our test unit is based on an Intel Core i7 820QM processor and a professional Nvidia Quadro NVS 3100M graphics adapter. In addition, there is a 256 gigabyte solid state drive from Samsung.

Dell Latitude E6510 laptop case

Our device looks elegant thanks to the silver display lid. But for an additional fee, you can purchase covers in other colors.

The base part of the case and the display lid have been reinforced with metal parts. Therefore, the display lid is very resistant to pressure and twisting. The display bezels are also virtually pressure-resistant. The base body showed high torsion resistance. The laptop case has a matte surface, which is very pleasant to the touch.

The metal hinges that hold the display lid do their job well. The display lid can be easily opened and closed with one hand. The opening angle of the lid is limited to 170 degrees, which will be convenient when using the device on your lap.

There are special hooks on the case that fix the display in a closed position and facilitate bladeless transportation of the laptop. These hooks open easily by pressing the center button.

Regarding mobility, I would like to say that the 15.6-inch device does not belong to the class of mobile devices that can be carried around all the time. The weight of this laptop is only two and a half kilograms.

Connectivity

The location of the ports will be convenient for both left-handed and right-handed people. Be that as it may, left-handed people may not like using an external mouse due to the fact that on the left side there is a ventilation grill of the laptop.

On the bottom panel there is a port for docking stations. Thanks to this, you can connect a docking station to this unit, which will expand the communication capabilities of your laptop.

The VGA and RJ-45 (LAN) ports are located on the back of the laptop. On the left side there are ports: DisplayPort, USB, Kensington lock connector and USB-eSATA combo port. At the front there is a 34 mm Express card slot, a six-in-one memory card reader.

Communications

With Intel 82577LM Gigabit Network Connection, you can connect to Ethernet. In addition, our device also has a built-in Wi-Fi module supporting 802.11 b / g / n standards.

You can also transfer data to mobile devices using the Bluetooth 3.0 module.

Above the display is the peephole of a three megapixel webcam.

Software

Our laptop was preinstalled with Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 32bit operating system. Our test unit was equipped with four gigabytes of RAM but of which only 3.18 gigabytes are available as the 32-bit operating system no longer allows.

Contents of delivery

The set with the laptop includes a disk for recovering the operating system after a failure, as well as a disk with various utilities and drivers for the laptop. But for US residents, this disc will have to be ordered separately.

Safety

In addition to the Kensington lock slot, our laptop also has a fingerprint reader. It is located on the right side of the keyboard unit - which is quite unusual. It can be configured the first time it is turned on using Dell ControlPoint. After that, you can add a password and scan your fingerprint.

Input devices for Dell Latitude E6510 laptop

Keyboard

The keyboard of this laptop has a standard layout, so you can easily get used to it. The laptop keyboard has a long and crisp stroke.Keys are very noisy when typing quickly. The keyboard unit of the laptop flexes slightly in the middle. Our test device has additional keys that are used to adjust the volume and completely mute the sound. Of the shortcomings of this keyboard unit, I would like to highlight the fact that it does not have a separate digital unit.

Sensor field

We liked the touch field of this laptop for its matte finish and excellent sliding characteristics. This allows you to precisely control the cursor. If necessary, the touch field of the laptop can be disabled.

Dell Latitude E6510 Laptop Screen

This unit is equipped with a 15.6 inch display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. It has a built-in light sensor that can automatically change the brightness of the display depending on external conditions.

The average brightness of this display is 272 cd / m². Due to the high brightness level, even the naked eye cannot see the dark areas on the display.

Thanks to the high brightness value of the display, you can work with your notebook outdoors without any problems.

In terms of viewing angles, the laptop is no different from other devices in this class. The display of this notebook has very good horizontal viewing angles.

Dell Latitude E6510 laptop performance

Our laptop is powered by Intel's QM57 Express chipset, which supports the next generation Core i processors. Our test unit was powered by a Core i7 820QM processor. With multi-threading support, this processor can simultaneously process tasks in eight threads.

Unlike the Arrandale Core i processors, our processor does not have an integrated graphics chip.

You can buy the Dell Latitude E6510 laptop in our online store at the lowest price.
