Samsung Corporation has released another representative of the 31st series - the Samsung BX2231 widescreen LED monitor with a diagonal of 21.5 inches.

Design

It is very easy to recognize a Samsung monitor by its design, as always it is a classic - a gray black color. Samsung BX2231 is no exception. A narrow frame runs along the edge, from behind you can see the cover decorated with a relief pattern. This monitor will look great on any desktop: in the office, at home. The monitor looks good in any interior.

The monitor is supported by a thin plastic inclined leg, which in turn reliably rests on an oval stand. This method of mounting the monitor is already familiar to everyone: basically an oval stand with a large diameter and this keeps the monitor from swinging on the table and even when you "hooked" it a little. This stand is designed to adjust the tilt of the display. The monitor is controlled using the touch keys, they are placed in the lower left corner of the screen.

Equipment

The monitor is equipped with modern LED-backlight technology. The display supports Full HD resolution. Power consumption in operating mode is 40% lower than that of a lamp model with the same diagonal. This is accomplished with an economical LED backlight.

Samsung BX2231 has a special feature called Magic Eco for additional energy saving. This function allows you to reduce the power consumption of the monitor up to 75 and even up to 50% (of course, this is at the expense of reducing the brightness). If you want to watch a movie on a sunny day and you do not have enough brightness, then the Magic Eco function is turned off, the power consumption level returns to 100%. In sleep mode, the monitor consumes up to 0.3 watts.

Also, the monitor is equipped with an off timer: it's like on a TV, you determine the time and the screen automatically turns off after it has elapsed. The response time of the matrix is ​​only 2ms (GTG), this provides a clear display of objects that move quickly in computer games and watching videos.

Samsung BX2231 is a gaming monitor. In addition to the analog VGA input, with which you can easily connect a netbook to the monitor, this model has 2 HDMI connectors. On the part of the manufacturer, this is a very correct move, since current laptops and video cards increasingly have an HDMI type of interface.

If your video card has only a DVI output, then connecting the monitor via HDMI can be easily done using a special adapter. Your monitor can very easily and easily become the focal point of your digital home thanks to the presence of HDMI. Various game consoles, HD camcorders, video players, and much more can be connected to the monitor directly.

Work

The MagicBright button makes it possible to switch several video modes. Each of these video modes is pre-installed, configured to work with different types of images. You can select a mode for working with text, for watching movies, using Internet sites, a mode for games. There is also one user mode that the owner of the monitor can configure themselves.

Samsung BX2231 is equipped with an interesting Color Effect option (it's like a photo filter). Using the Color Effect option, the image will be displayed with an overlay effect: brownish sepia, or black and white, or maybe you want shades of green or aquamarine. I think that this function in the monitor is not very necessary, but it is.

A few more useful things. Magic Return function - when you disconnect the second monitor, all windows open there applications will be automatically transferred to the screen of Samsung BX2231. It will be useful when you are working with several displays at once, for example, display one image on the large screen of a widescreen home TV.Magic Return will save you time and hassle by eliminating the need to manually return windows.

Among the useful functions for improving the image quality, the result of which is noticeable in practice, we can note the work of the MEGA DCR technology (it is present in the new monitors from Samsung). The technology analyzes the image of each frame and sets the corresponding matrix backlight level. This technology allows you to achieve good results in terms of dynamic contrast ratio. Samsung has good viewing angles of the TN matrix. This is thanks to the use of Magic Angle technology. It maintains contrast and vivid images on the monitor from any angle.
