Review Lenovo IdeaPad G530 Notebook

A laptop for work with a conventional design and good performance.

Design

Outwardly, the laptop does not look very attractive, without any costs and bells and whistles, we can say that it is executed in a classic style. All panels of a strict form without particularly obvious rounding, this also emphasizes its classic look. On the outside, the corporate logo of Lenovo is modestly located, it gives it at least some kind of style and appearance. The lid itself is finished in matte gray and the logo is matte white. Even the look and feel of this laptop is designed to suggest that it is meant for serious business, not entertainment.

But, despite the absence of any roundness and catchy colors, the laptop looks quite solid and original. The fact that the laptop is made in a matte gray color and there is not a single gram of gloss plays a role in the process of use, there are no fingerprints on the surface and not a lot, scratches are hidden, which the glossy surface cannot boast of. So the creators thought about this design.

The inner panel is also not pleasing to the eye with its appearance. It is made of rough plastic, and these strict lines are too serious. The inner panel, edges and bottom are made of rough plastic. But these materials make the laptop durable. The laptop is assembled with high quality, the gaps are minimized, the case does not crack when pressed, the plastic is strong and resilient. The case hints at its reliability.

Display and sound

The laptop has in its arsenal a widescreen and bright WXGA display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, with a diagonal of 15.4 inches, which means that the display is not small, and therefore the laptop is not small. Such a screen allows you to feel completely calm and comfortable while watching movies, photos, videos, playing and working in various programs. This display is well viewed from different viewing angles, which is also not bad enough, but do not hope for something special either. And again, I repeat that the laptop was created for work and for work in the office, the display will show itself well, it also has sufficient color rendering and backlighting. The disadvantages include the glossy surface, which, whatever one may say, will give glare and reflections, but still the screen is satisfactory.

The acoustics brought to our ears by the two built-in stereo speakers can be considered quite loud and of high quality. This acoustics, as well as the entire laptop, is no frills and it is quite enough for a small room or office. The speakers are developed by Intel, and its name is High Definition Audio and it will allow you to listen to quality music. True, there is not enough volume for complete euphoria, and yet you need to connect external speakers.

For a complete set, the laptop has a 1.3 megapixel webcam, which is quite enough for video conferencing, video chatting with friends. The camera is capable of capturing both photos and videos, but still it is not the quality that we would like. The next disadvantage is that the video camera is not rotatable, which means that the adjustment must be done manually.

Keyboard and touchpad

The keyboard is comfortable, soft and pleasant to the touch, produces minimal noise when pressed, and has a long stroke. The keys are made of a large size, which makes it possible to quickly type texts and not catch the keys lying nearby. The keyboard has a standard layout, completely Russified, black, which makes it stand out from the crowd, the buttons are marked with white signs. When typing, it does not bend from pressing a finger, which puts a plus on the material of both the keyboard itself and the laptop. But as for me, it kills that the keyboard of the Lenovo IdeaPad G530 is not full, and the dimensions allowed for a full keyboard. But in general we can say that the keyboard is good.

Above the keyboard, there are four touch-sensitive keys for controlling functions. On the right side are the multimedia control keys, and on the left side there are the power button and the restore settings button. There was also a place for the location of indicators that notify about the state in which the laptop is located.

Below, under the keyboard, a little to the left of the center is the touchpad. It is slightly recessed behind the panel itself, which makes its edges stand out, and is made in matte black. The touchpad is equipped with a vertical scrolling function for convenient use of the Internet, office suites, viewing photos, which is indicated in white on the right side of the manipulator. The manipulator responds quickly to touch, acts clearly and without glitches.

There are two control buttons under the manipulator. They are large, slightly rounded at the corners, pressed easily and noticeably loudly.

Technical equipment

The Lenovo IdeaPad G530 is powered by Intel's 2.1GHz Pentium Dual Core T4300 processor. This processor is designed specifically for laptops, it works with minimal noise, minimal power consumption, heat dissipation 35 W, does not heat up, it is based on 65 nanometer technology. The processor has a high level of computation and is capable of a long workflow without overheating.

The laptop also has 3GB of DDR3 RAM, which provides enough memory for the processor to run. This RAM is a new development and has a higher frequency than its predecessors.

To store information in the laptop, a SATA hard drive is provided, which has a maximum volume of 250 GB and operates at a speed of 5400 rpm.

With the Intel X4500MHD graphics adapter installed on the Lenovo IdeaPad G530, you can work seamlessly in office applications. In addition, the video card will allow you to play old games, but do not rely heavily on performance, because this discrete video card was designed to watch videos in good quality and work. That is, if you are not a gamer and will not work in programs related to graphics, then this video card will suit you.

Optical drive, ports, card reader

The side faces of the laptop contain various ports that allow you to seamlessly connect a variety of equipment (bear, printer, monitor, flash drives).

On the right side there are two horizontal USB 2.0 ports, one RJ-11 modem connector and a charger jack. The main place on the right side is taken by the built-in DVD-RW optical drive, thanks to which you can write and read information from both regular and dual-layer discs.

On the left side of the Lenovo IdeaPad G530 laptop there are two more USB 2.0 ports, one VGA analog video output, with which you can connect a monitor to the laptop, and one HDMI digital port for transmitting high-quality video signals. Above the USB outputs there is a card reader, which will allow you to quickly transfer information from various types of media.

The front end panel houses two standard audio connectors.

The laptop also provides wireless modules, these are Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, with a standard data transfer rate of 802.11a / g / n. These modules allow you to quickly and wirelessly communicate with your work colleagues, and you can also set up a home wireless network and monitor everything from your laptop.

Battery

The 4400 mAh battery is not powerful enough. it allows the laptop to live without recharging for no more than 2.5 hours. When working in a loaded mode, the laptop will withstand no more than an hour and a half at all. But don't be discouraged, because not every laptop can boast long battery life, especially at a price like this one.

Conclusion

Now let's bring a little clarity to the current situation. In principle, the laptop earned not a bad rating, as a laptop for non-demanding people who do not pursue high performance and technical excellence. The purpose of this notebook is to work in office applications and perform calculations, and it is also quite suitable for entry-level users, that is, for learning.

But let's not forget that this laptop is characterized by a reliable build, bright display, good processor and good functionality. And this all suggests that the laptop will be resistant to constant travel and work outside the home.
