HOW TO LEARN FAST PRINTING ON THE KEYBOARD - how to properly clean (wash) your computer keyboard

Before starting a typical story about how to properly use the keyboard and advice on how to care for it, answer me one question: have you ever wondered, how muchthe letters are located on the keyboard in this and not another order? If yes, then now I will reveal this secret to you.

QWERTY is the most popular Latin keyboard layout today, which we are used to using for the English language. The name comes from the 6 leftmost letters of the top row of the layout. If we compare a modern keyboard for computers and an old typewriter, it turns out that the arrangement of letters on them is absolutely identical! As it turned out, the keyboard was not invented for convenience, but on the contrary - to reduce the typing speed. The first typewriter invented TOChristopher Sholes 150 years ago in the USA.

She was extremely uncomfortable for two reasons:

Firstly, the result of your work was not visible, since the hammers with letters were under the sheet of paper;

Secondly, the letters on the keys were arranged in alphabetical order. Because of this, individual hammers (with the most popular letters) often interlocked with each other, and this resulted in breakage.

Therefore, Mr. Sholes decided to disconnect these "popular" letters. As a result, the hammers no longer broke, but it became much more inconvenient to type. Instead of the usual arrangement of letters ABCD at the beginning, now it has become QWERTY, which has survived to this day.

As for the Russian keyboard, everything is much more reasonable here. The most common letters are in the middle of the keyboard, under the strongest index fingers, and under the weakest little fingers are the "rare" letters. But despite this, there is still one "blunder". It is not known who decided to put a comma on one button with a period, only in upper case. Therefore, to put a comma, we press 2 keys, and in order to put a full stop, only one. Agree, this is not very reasonable, because we have to put commas much more often than periods.

Connecting the keyboard

And finally, we pass on to the main parts of our article. Let's start with how to properly connect the purchased keyboard. Nowadays, there are three main connection methods, which directly depend on what kind of keyboard you have.

The first way - The most common. At the back of the system unit there is a special hole for connecting the "keyboard", it is located next to the hole for the mouse and in most cases has a purple color

Second way - more modernized is the connection to the USB port, which has a standard connector.

Third way - for the most advanced who have a radio keyboard. It is connected to the system unit using a special sensor. A huge advantage of this type of keyboard is that it can be used from a distance.

Learning to work the keyboard competently and professionally

When working with the keyboard, try to follow these simple rules:

  • Your arms should be at a 60-degree angle with the keyboard, your hands should be perpendicular to your torso, and your wrists should be bent at a 105-degree angle.
  • Remember to keep your wrists steady when using the keyboard. Only the elbows and fingers move (if you use the two-finger method of dialing) or ONLY your fingers (if the ten-finger method is closer to you).
  • Each hand is responsible only for its own part of the keyboard, that is: right hand - right part, left - left. Visits to foreign territory are strictly prohibited.
  • If the two-finger typing method is closer to you (only the index fingers of both hands), then be sure to look at the text you type and the keys you press.
  • Press the keys gently, effortlessly. Try not to hold your finger on one of the letters for a long time, and also to get into the middle of the key. This will protect you from unnecessary typos and wasting time on correcting them (after all, this could have been avoided).

Especially for those who dream of learning how to type quickly

The ten-finger keyboard method is one of the most popular, fast, efficient, and interesting. With perfect mastering of this method, the typing speed can reach up to 1000 characters per minute !!! Of course, if you seriously decide to tackle this issue, then special programs will come to your aid. But if you just want to familiarize yourself with it, learn some of the nuances - then our article is just for you. And so, the basic rules for a ten-finger set:

  • The entire keyboard is divided into specific areas of responsibility for each finger. Look at the drawing carefully and try to remember them.
  • When you are not working, your fingers should be in the third row from the bottom, above the letters F, S, B, A, O, L, D, Zh .. For convenience, there are small protrusions on the keys with the letters O and A. This allows the user to quickly and clearly navigate the keyboard blindly.
  • When you are typing, your hands should be absolutely motionless, and your eyes look only at the monitor, in no case should you tear yourself away and look at the keyboard.
  • All white keys are also blind pressed.

If you want the text to be not only typed quickly, but also without errors, then read the following tips:

  • To master this method as quickly as possible - use it not only during training, but also during work.
  • When typing, try to make as few mistakes as possible, even if this affects speed.
  • Try to peek at the keys as little as possible - this will give you self-confidence and significantly improve the quality of your work in the future.

And in order to surprise you a little - another interesting fact: for an 8-hour working day at the computer, our fingerstravel 7 kilometers!Agree, this figure is impressive !!!

Basic Keyboard Care Tips

  1. Connect and disconnect the keyboard only when the computer is turned off from the network. Otherwise, not only the keyboard itself, but even the motherboard may "die".
  2. The keyboard has the ability to "collect" all sorts of crumbs, dust, debris and other small debris. To get rid of this dirt, simply turn the keyboard upside down and shake it. In more severe cases, vacuum with a vacuum cleaner.
  3. Wipe the keys with rubbing alcohol every month to remove excess grease and dirt. Do not use organic solvents for this.
  4. Disassemble the entire keyboard once every two to three years to clean the contacts and remove dust from small internal parts.
  5. Do not place heavy objects (bags, cups, briefcases, books) on the keyboard, do not spill liquid or clog with bread crumbs.
  6. You can press the keys ONLY WITH FINGERS. Forget about pens, pencils, palms ...
  7. Do not touch the monitor and keyboard at the same time.
  8. And the last piece of advice - DO NOT EAT near the computer, because the meal is the main enemy of all keyboards and computers in general.
