The popular Nokia 6111 slider will never be. There are so many shortcomings in it that for all our love for image sliders, the set of problems of this device killed even the memories of past affection in us.

Design

The design is stylish - you can't say anything. But build quality. This gadget resembles a Chinese toy. Its body is so frail that it crunches at the slightest pressure - we have already begun to fear that even with careful use, the phone will last no longer than a few months. The terminal's ergonomics are also not pleasing: the navi button is small and completely inconvenient, and the digital block is made, although better, but the button response when pressed is completely invisible.

Camera

The megapixel camera does not take photographs, but boring cartoons. It looks like the pictures were taken by not the best VGA-camera - they look so bad. Thus, one of the main advantages of the terminal turned into a disadvantage. And although the camera allows you to record hour-long videos, we do not recommend overusing it with such a modest amount of memory (23 MB), otherwise the free space will quickly run out.

Communications

And with communications 6111 did not disappoint. Built on the Nokia Series 40 platform, this terminal is well equipped: it is in no way inferior to the leading business class models (EDGE, Push-to-Talk, Bluetooth are present). More expensive models can also envy the 6111's multimedia functionality - for example, there is an FM receiver here, as well as the famous development of Nokia called Visual Radio.

Working hours

In the medium load mode, the gadget lasted about three days - a standard result that does not stand out in any way against the background of other models. And the use of a photo-ideocamera and FM-radio significantly reduces the battery life: with active work with multimedia functions, the phone can be discharged in a day and a half after charging.

Outcomes

Nokia's attempt to beat Samsung in the slider niche has failed. Despite a good idea, the technical implementation of the device turned out to be rather crude, so it's too early to talk about a redistribution of the multimedia sliders market. Honestly, they obviously did not take into account something there - the device seems to be nice, but a critical mass of defects literally kills it. Of course, before launching on sale, half of them will be removed and they will almost certainly begin to say that nothing better has been produced for girls since the advent of tights. Even so, the price of the phone is likely to be higher than that of crafty competitors.

Benefits: impressive multimedia experience

disadvantages: poor build quality, mediocre ergonomics, poor photo and video camera

VK Mobile has not been seen in Ukraine for a long time. And now this Korean company remembered our country and brought us another women's mobile phone - a bright and beautiful thing. Such as it has always been famous for. It is a pity, however, that she appeared in stores late.

Design

Externally, VK 520 looks quite familiar - it is a classic clamshell with two color displays. You can choose from two colors - bright red and silver. The first option will suit those who love everything defiant and catchy, and the second will appeal to more modest ladies. The external screen of VK 520 is surrounded by a ring of 24 shiny stones, under which multi-colored LEDs are hidden. In the lower right corner you will find the lens of the built-in camera, and in the upper corner you will find the external antenna. The inner part of the device is a bit unusual - the pink outline around the silver keys and the display does not "stick" to the phone's color in any way.

Display

This VK Mobile uses two CSTN matrices displaying 65536 colors each. The internal main display with a diagonal of 1.5 inches and a resolution of 128 x 143 pixels reproduces the picture rather gloomy, but everything is OK with detail. The animation of the menu on the phone is simply awesome - all of its items have animated icons rotating in a circle. The external display has simpler functions: it informs about incoming signals, and after closing the phone, it shows the network status, batteries, date and time.

Camera

The camera of this model spoils the whole picture. Its 0.3-megapixel sensor is absolutely overwhelmed by the ambient light. And, as a result, the pictures are dark and not colorful. And besides the brightness, you cannot adjust anything in it. The maximum you can do is to lighten the frame or use the zoom while shooting. Among the capabilities of the camera are continuous shooting and video recording, but the picture is updated very slowly, and the sensor gets used to the change in illumination in a few seconds.

Communications

This VK communicates with the outside world only thanks to the GPRS protocol. Bluetooth or at least infrared port Korean engineers did not consider it necessary to burden women.

Entertainment

Special audiences - special options. Since the phone is primarily designed for the fair sex, it has a biorhythm counter on which you can calculate vital signs and see them in the form of graphs. And all three toys of the device do not cause much interest.

Working hours

The battery in the phone is mysterious (we can assume that it is lithium-ion). Nothing definite can be said even about its capacity. But she can "feed" the phone for three days.

Outcomes

Benefits: cute design

disadvantages: lack of wireless capabilities, mediocre displays

ROVERPC M1

Characteristics

Model: RoverPC M

Frequency range: GSM 900/1800

CPU: TI OMAR 710

Weight: 98 g

Dimensions (edit): 10.9 x 4.8 x 1.8 cm

Display: TFT, 65536 colors, resolution 176 x 220 pixels.

RAM: 32 Mb

ROM: 64 MB (25 MB available to the user) + miniSD slot

Food: Li-Ion, 1000 mAh

Camera: 1.3 megapixel, video recording

Communications: WAP 2.0, GPRS Class 8, IrDA, Bluetooth 1.

OS: Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 SE Smartphone edition

The smartphone from RoverPC costs like a decent mobile phone, but is equipped with functions that only pocket computers have. We are very pleased that such a “dormant volcano” like Rover has finally released another inexpensive smartphone.

Design

The classic form factor allowed us not to waste time getting used to. The upper part of the front panel is occupied by the display, and the lower - by the buttons. On the left side, we found an SD slot for a memory card - to save it from dust, the company's engineers covered it with a light gray rubber cap. On the opposite surface, we found an infrared window and two buttons for controlling the camera and a shortcut key for basic functions. And on the back is a 1.3MP camera lens.

Display

We considered the screen to be the weakest point of the smartphone, since its quality is much inferior to similar models from other manufacturers. The image looks blurry, and the brightness level is poor. The display resolution is 176 x 220 pixels (quite a decent indicator), but the display of 65536 colors is already the yesterday of mobile technologies. On the other hand, a smartphone is not an image clamshell designed for club parties, and it is not so easy to notice the difference.

Communications

Like any other smartphone, this one can communicate in GSM networks, as well as transfer data via infrared and Bluetooth.Still, most of the data exchange takes place via the GPRS protocol, which allows sending e-mail and accessing regular Web pages.

Camera

The smartphone received a camera with a 1.3-megapixel sensor. This means that the maximum image resolution is 1280 x 1024 pixels. If you take a picture of text printed on a sheet of A4 paper, it is easy to recognize it on a monitor or display of such a device. The exchange of such pictures is possible only via e-mail or wireless connection, if the recipient is nearby.

Performance

It was noticeable that M1 thinks for a long time: opening applications was not such an easy task for him. The second version of the operating system for Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 smartphones was supported by only 32 MB of RAM, which is not enough even for basic capabilities, not to mention further system upgrades.

Working hours

Having equipped the device with a 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery, the manufacturer promised that it will work up to 133 hours in standby mode or 6 hours in talk mode. Having doubts about this indicator, we checked it, and it turned out that more than three days with 10 minutes of talk per day and an hour of using the options the PDA M1 did not last.

Outcomes

Benefits: affordable price

disadvantages: not the best display, insufficient memory
