Review keyboard A4Tech X7-G800V Black USB

Recently, manufacturers have been offering a huge selection of multifunctional keyboards. Today we are going to take a look at one of them a4tech X7-G800V. Taking the box in hand, we see an image of the keyboard itself and a description of the keyboard's capabilities and software. Well, and, of course, the corporate slogan for the X7 series devices “X7 WINNERS CHOICE”. On the back of the box we see a brief description of the features in different languages, including Russian, and a detailed description of each of them.

EQUIPMENT.

Here the first unpleasant surprise awaits us. Of the entire configuration, only the keyboard. There is no CD with software, no instructions, no pliers and additional keys as in the G800MU model.

ERGONOMICS & DESIGN

The color of the keyboard is black with a silver-gray insert, the main keys are black, the additional ones are gray, the movement keys in games W, A, S, D and arrows have a red rubberized coating. 6 multimedia keys are silver. The keyboard design looks pretty nice and clearly hints at the main gaming direction of the device, in the office the device will look out of place. Of course, it takes a long time to get used to, but the additional keys are located quite conveniently. The keys under the spacebar are much lower than the main ones, therefore they do not interfere and at the same time are easily accessible for the thumb. Many people swear at the shortened space, but I have never missed it in a year of use. The key travel is long and clear. The keys are a little wobbly and quite loud. There is no backlight.

SOFTWARE & FEATURES

- super-combo 15 programmable keys to which custom macros can be assigned

- built-in memory 96K

- Response time up to 8x faster than a standard USB keyboard

- provides simultaneous pressing of 8 keys, excluding the use of ghost keys (ctrl-alt-del)

- disabling Windows keys while playing

- waterproof

The software had to be downloaded separately from the Internet, but this was not a big problem. The interface is nice and intuitive.

1) You can assign absolutely any action to additional keys from office combinations to shutting down the system, you can also set up a macro that performs almost any action from the keyboard mouse. There are 5 profiles, for each of which we can configure different actions for one key. Well, and, of course, 6 already become standard multimedia keys

2) The keyboard has 96kb of built-in memory, which allows you to customize it for yourself once and no longer think about it when reinstalling the system or using the keyboard on another computer

3) The response time of this keyboard is 1000Hz, which is 8 times faster than a conventional keyboard. The desired function or marketing ploy is already up to the user to decide

4) There is also a function to disable Windows keys during the game

5) It is possible to simultaneously press up to 8 keys at the same time, which is designed to increase efficiency in serious gaming battles

6) For those who like to spill various drinks, the keyboard is provided with water resistance of the main part and drainage holes for free flow of liquid. I honestly poured a glass of water onto the keyboard (although I have never spilled anything in 10 years) to test it, this did not affect the operation of the device, the test passed.

RESULTS

Quite a convenient multifunctional keyboard that will be useful not only for games, but also for working with documents, surfing the Internet, programming, design and much more.

Pros: Value for money, a huge number of additional features

Cons: Volume, equipment.
