Lenovo S5000 ultra-thin and super-light tablet

Lenovo has unveiled a new tablet, the S5000, at IFA 2013 in Berlin. The key feature of the novelty is its low weight.

According to preliminary information, Lenovo S5000 is expected to go on sale in Ukraine by the end of this year.

A kind of excitement around this model arose due to the fact that it weighs only 236 grams. The device manufacturer focuses not only on this parameter, but also on the fact that the device is budgetary.

Lenovo S5000 is equipped with a seven-inch display. The screen resolution of the novelty is 1280x800 pixels. The device uses an IPS-matrix.

The presented tablet is equipped with a quad-core processor MediaTek 8389. The clock frequency of each of the cores of the "heart" of the novelty is equal to 1.2 GHz.

The built-in lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 3450 mAh allows the Lenovo S5000 user to operate the device with the Wi-Fi module turned on for eight hours (until it is completely discharged or the charger is connected). The manufacturer notes the possibility of completing the new tablet with a 3G communication module (HSPA +).

In addition, data on the S5000 cameras was released at IFA 2013. So, the new product from "Lenovo" is equipped with a front 1.6-megapixel and rear 5-megapixel modules.

The presented tablet runs on the Android Jelly Bean operating system (4.2).

Another characteristic of the S5000, which cannot be overlooked, is the thickness of the case. It is 7.9 mm. Thus, the new product is slightly lighter and thinner than the Google Nexus 7 and Asus MeMO Pad HD 7.

According to preliminary data, Lenovo S5000 will be released in only one modification - with 16 GB of internal memory. The amount of RAM is 1 GB.

The body is made of textured plastic and has metal design elements (for example, a chrome insert at the bottom on the back of the structure).

Lenovo S5000 is equipped with a micro-USB connector. This port allows you to connect external storage devices (for example, a hard drive) to the tablet, since it supports the "USB On-The-Go" technology.

The peculiarities of the novelty can be safely attributed to the fact that the S5000 does not come with a standard ("stock") Android interface. By default, the device uses a more colorful proprietary skin developed by the specialists of the Lenovo company.

According to preliminary data, the recommended price for a modification without a 3G module is about UAH 2,000, and with that - about UAH 2,500.

Lenovo S5000 will compete for both Google Nexus 7 and Asus MeMO Pad HD 7, Lenovo IdeaTab A3000, Cube U55GT Talk79, Ramos W21 Tablet PC, Iconbit NetTAB Matrix DX, Merlin 7 '' Quade Core 8GB Tablet PC and other 7- inch tablets.
