Fly IQ4404 Spark review

The company "Fly" has gained wide popularity on the Ukrainian smartphone market due to high-quality, modern, powerful and inexpensive devices. It is the low price tag of the products of this manufacturer that attracts attention. It is noteworthy that some models have technical characteristics that are almost similar to the flagships of other brands, and are significantly cheaper. In fact, cheap does not mean poor quality. Fly has found the perfect way to make the device inexpensive. The fact is that in most budget smartphones from this manufacturer, the predominant body material is plastic. At the same time, its quality is in no way inferior to that of expensive smartphones.

A striking example of a budget and productive device from "Fly" is the IQ4404 Spark. This smartphone is inexpensive and has excellent technical characteristics. All details about the specifications and functionality of the Fly IQ4404 Spark are presented in this review.

# Equipment

The monitored device comes with a power supply, cable, quick start guide and stereo headset.

# Design and controls

The Fly IQ4404 Spark smartphone is available in two color options - white and black. The case in both versions is made of high-quality plastic. In the white model, it is glossy. No traces of use, no scratches and other abrasions are visible on such a cover of the case (they can still appear in case of careless use of the device).

Fly IQ4404 Spark is made in monoblock form-factor. The device fits perfectly in the palm of a medium size. The dimensions of the case of the reviewed model are as follows (HxWxT): 131.4x66.8x9.9 mm. The Fly IQ4404 Spark smartphone weighs only 132 grams. This weight is just great for a device with a 4.5-inch display. Note that not only most similar smartphones, but even some 4.3-inch models weigh much more, which is felt almost immediately. However, the device is heavy enough in the hand not to make it feel like it is a feather.

The front and back of the case are separated by a gray insert (in the white model). This design element fits perfectly into the design of the device.

On the right side of the case there is a lock / unlock button for the display, and on the left there is a volume rocker.

The upper end of the Fly IQ4404 Spark smartphone has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and the lower one has a microphone and a micro-USB port. A special recess is provided for removing the back cover. It is located in the right corner of the bottom end of the reviewed smartphone.

Under the cover there are slots for installing two SIM-cards (Mini-SIM) and a memory card. Each of them is designed in such a way that in order to retrieve the contents, you must first remove the device's battery.

In addition to the display, on the front of the structure there is an earpiece, a front camera, three touch keys ("Home", "Back" and "Options / Menu"), as well as proximity and light sensors.

The main 5-megapixel camera and flash are located at the top back of the device, and a multimedia speaker at the bottom.

# Display

The Fly IQ4404 Spark smartphone is equipped with a 4.5-inch IPS touchscreen. The display resolution is 480x864 pixels. The pixel density per inch is about 220 ppi. The screen displays approximately 16 million colors. Fly IQ4404 Spark smartphone display recognizes up to 2 simultaneous clicks. Standard multitouch gestures are supported.

Viewing angles, brightness levels and contrast of the display of the reviewed smartphone are excellent.

# Platform and performance

Fly IQ4404 Spark is equipped with a dual-core MTK6572 processor from MediaTek. The clock speed of each of the cores is 1.3 GHz. As for the GPU, the Mali-400 is involved in the reviewed model. The device employs 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory (less than 2 GB available to the user). Fortunately, the device has a slot for installing a microSD memory card. Thus, the free space for downloading and storing data can be expanded by a maximum of 32 GB.

According to the manufacturer, the MTK6572 chip is 30% more efficient at using battery power (compared to the older MTK6577).

Fly IQ4404 Spark smartphone runs on Android 4.2.2 operating system. The smartphone manufacturer has made some design changes to the standard skin from Google. However, they are very minor. Therefore, we can safely say that the smartphone under review uses the interface standard for platform 4.2.2.

In general, the system works quite smoothly, but with a large number of open applications, the interface slows down for a split second, which is not critical if we take into account the amount of RAM.

As for the performance indicators, here the Fly IQ4404 Spark smartphone has everything at the level corresponding to the technical characteristics. In the synthetic test "AnTuTu Benchmark" the device scored 7887 points, in "Geekbench" - 752 points, and in the "Quadrant" - about 3100 points.

# Battery

The monitored device is equipped with a 1750 mAh lithium-ion battery. The manufacturer claims that a full charge of the battery should be enough for 400 hours of battery life of the smartphone in standby mode or 7 hours in talk mode. The charge is consumed quite efficiently. If you charge the device at 100%, then without recharging it will work up to two days at standard load (calls, listening to music, surfing the web).

# Communication capabilities

The Fly IQ4404 Spark smartphone is equipped with a Wi-Fi (802.11 n) module, thanks to which the device can not only connect to available networks, but also work as an access point. As already noted, the device has a micro-USB connector.

The reviewed smartphone also has a Bluetooth 2.1 module with support for all the most common profiles.

The device is equipped with two slots for installing SIM cards. The first one is for a 2G card, and the second one is for a 3G card. Therefore, the device operates on GSM (900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 1900 MHz) and HSDPA (900 MHz and 2100 MHz) networks.

#Camera

The Fly IQ4404 Spark smartphone has two cameras - a 5-megapixel main camera and a front VGA camera. Both modules work perfectly and capture the picture very well.

As for the shooting settings, they are standard for most Android smartphones in this price category - "White balance", "Exposure", "Face detection", "Self-timer", "Continuous shooting", "Photo size", "Geotags", " Color Effect "," Shooting Mode "," ISO "and others.

The maximum video recording resolution is 1280x720 pixels.
