Nikon 55-200 telephoto lens as a portrait lens

Repeatedly watched the controversy on the forums about whether it is possible to make portraits with telephoto cameras, or are they only intended for birds?

The lens itself, attached to a DSLR, looks pretty impressive, especially if you add a hood to it. Seasoned photographers will not make fun of you, because the saying "size matters" in photography plays an important role

After a month of using Nikon 55-200 f / 4-5.6G IF-ED AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor, I post photos taken with this miracle glass at different focal lengths:

F = 68mm

F = 92mm

F = 105mm

F = 135mm

The photo shows the bokeh of this lens. It compares favorably with "pentagrams" of fifty dollars, and does not hurt the eye so much

The aperture of this lens is certainly not at its best, but on a sunny day it is not important, and in cloudy weather the image stabilizer saves. For all other cases - there is a flash

I think the conclusion is obvious: for a small price, you get an excellent portrait lens, which you can shoot a reportage and indulge in photography
