ELEGANT SIMPLICITY
The phone is made in a classic form-factor, traditional for inexpensive models. The body material is plastic, which, although it does not seem expensive, nevertheless does not creak, as is often the case in much more expensive models. All the details fit very clearly, we did not find a single gap.
On the upper end of the device there is a metal mesh, behind which a high-quality speaker is hidden. Its sound, even at the highest level, turned out to be quite impressive, without the slightest distortion. By the way, there is another small speaker on the side of the phone (on the right). Not without a lanyard - the phone can be worn around the neck or wrist, that's how you like it. The author of these lines, for example, liked the second option better.
The keypad in the phone is almost flawless. The aluminum buttons are easy to press, so, say, while typing an SMS, your finger cannot slide off.
The display characteristics of the phone are ambiguous. In this model, it is made using C-STN technology with a resolution of 96 x 68, which is a standard for inexpensive phones. In the absence of a built-in camera and such a modest resolution, the display could well have been made black and white, which would have improved its readability in sunlight. On the other hand, the handset supports MMS, which means reception of color pictures.
BUDGET WITH A SPARE
Evaluating the Nokia 2310, you should remember that the phone was created primarily for making calls and sending messages. The device copes with both the first and the second flawlessly. The built-in memory is about four megabytes, which is quite decent for a phone without a camera. It is suggested to fill this volume with ringtones, pictures and menu styles, which can be downloaded to your taste using the built-in WAP browser. Among other standard features, we note a rather powerful vibration alert and the traditional for Nokia phones ease of access to such standard functions as clock, alarm clock, date and time. But the real highlight of the phone is the built-in FM-receiver, for which a special button is provided for launching. The work of the receiver can be assessed on a solid four, all settings are extremely simple and accessible. The reception quality is not always perfect, but on the whole the phone deserves a decent rating in this parameter. A lot of attention is paid by users to the battery life of the phone, especially when it comes to inexpensive devices, which, by definition, should not be quickly discharged due to their relatively low functionality. The device is equipped with an impressive 970 mAh battery, which, according to the manufacturer's figures, should be enough for 6 hours in operation mode and 400 hours in standby mode. In the field, the handset lasted about three days with an average talk time of up to 30 ~ 40 minutes per day.
RESULTS
We rated the Nokia 2310 as a decent model for its class. Its limited functionality is compensated by its low cost, and the presence of a built-in radio receiver will be extremely demanded by the mass user. The non-trivial design of the phone will also attract the attention of the audience - after all, it is not easy to find an affordable device in such a sleek body.
