My Nokia 5228

This phone came into my hands a week ago. A friend of mine bought it and gave it to me so I could write this review. Fortunately, I have been using touchscreen phones for a long time, so I have something to compare it with.

In fact, Nokia 5228 is a stripped-down version of its "older brother" Nokia 5230. The only significant difference is the lack of a GPS receiver in the hardware of the 5228. In all other respects, it completely copies the 5230. The difference between these phones is about 300 hryvnia, so people who not intending to use navigation services, it would be wiser to buy this unit and save money.

Well, now a little about its characteristics:

The delivery set did not shine with wealth: it included only the phone itself, a bunch of instructions for setting up and operating it, a stylus keychain and a charger. I was upset about the lack of a microUSB cable for connecting the phone to a computer, as well as the lack of a memory card.

I attributed to the strengths of the phone: Large screen with good color rendering. Good sensor (no need for a stylus). A good case for a plastic one. Convenient, simple, clear menu. Possibility to enter a lot of various information into the phone book (as for all Nokia on platforms s40 and s60). A huge variety of Symbian programs that can be downloaded and installed on this device, ranging from calculators to various office applications.

The weak sides include the screen, which is difficult to see in the bright sun.

The music speaker has little depth of sound, it is quite enough for calls, but it will not work as a player, only with headphones.

The following, for those who care about it (for me, it doesn't matter, I inserted it and forgot it). It is not convenient to remove the SIM card, you need a stylus or a match. The back cover must be removed very carefully, the fasteners can be easily broken off. It is difficult to get the memory card, it sits deeply, it is difficult to grasp.

On the whole, the phone gives a positive impression. Price - quality corresponds, Nokia 5228 will suit the undemanding user who wants to buy a touchscreen smartphone at a great price!
