The computer does not see the camera - why the computer (laptop, PC, Windows 7) does not see the camera's camera or flash drive

When the camera is connected to a computer, the connected device is usually automatically set up and the contents of the memory of the device are displayed. If this does not happen, there are several answers to the question: why the laptop or computer does not see the camera?

Defective USB port

Connect the camera to the PC through the front connectors. Doesn't it work? Connect through the rear ports. In case of unsuccessful attempts, try to connect the USB flash drive. Is there no feedback? The problem is a defective cord, replace it. Everything worked, the problem is in the faulty USB ports.

Modern cameras have a type of USB connection called MTP. The camera cannot be connected to a computer with an outdated operating system if MTP is enabled in the camera.

It is recommended to connect cameras with a native USB cable, directly to the USB port of a computer, the length of the cord is no more than a meter.

The camera is off

The computer does not see the fotik if it is disconnected after connecting to the computer. The PC will not think the USB cable connection is working.

Windows does not see the camera - the drivers are not installed correctly

Can't see the camera via USB? Check if the drivers are installed correctly.

You need to connect your USB device to your computer. In the "Device Manager" section (My Computer - right-click the context menu - the "Properties" item - the "Device Manager" tab, see if a new storage device has been added to the "USB Controllers" section. If a yellow exclamation mark appears next to one of the items , the drivers are not installed correctly and the camera is not displayed on the computer.

The problem can be solved by reinstalling the driver from the disc purchased with the device.

System crash

The problem persists, and the PC still can't see the camera? The computer system may crash. Blocking programs recognize connected cameras as a potential threat containing viruses, therefore they block.

Decision:

  • go to "Start" - "Control Panel" - "System and Security" - "Windows Firewall";
  • click "Turn Windows Firewall on or off";
  • mark next to “Disable” Windows Firewall ”(not recommended) with a dot;
  • to save the changes, click "OK" at the bottom.

Restart your computer, try reconnecting the camera.
