HOW TO CHOOSE A DIVING MASK - how to wear a diving mask correctly, rating

A bunch of websites tell you to breathe when you apply a diving mask to your face. They say: if it holds, then it fits. In fact, if you create a vacuum under the mask, any will stick to your face. And under water, when you exhale through your nose, the vacuum will disappear, and that's it - hello water! This is a "working" trick of unscrupulous sellers. With this approach, you can sell any mask.

How to wear a mask correctly?

- Remove hair from the forehead, → apply the mask to the face, → press it to the eye sockets.

Sucked and held on? This is a sure sign that she is sitting properly and will not let water through. Because when we submerge, the air is compressed, the mask works like a suction cup or like curative cups, which are placed according to the principle of “heated → applied → sucked to the skin”. You do not need to inhale air. Behind the scenes, masks are classified into three types.

  • For breath-holding diving - freediving and spearfishing. These are small masks with a small space under the mask to minimize face squeezing (barotrauma).
  • For snorkeling (swimming in shallow water), these are panoramic models with side glazing. They have a large viewing angle, which is good and bad:
    • if you look through the front glass under water, the colors are the same;
    • through the side - the colors are different.
  • For diving - the smaller the mask space, the better: they will have a larger viewing angle.

Masks are single-glass, pseudo-single-glass (if you look from the front, you can see two glasses, and look from the inside - one), and two-glass. It is important to know what kind of glass is in the eye sockets. It should be marked "tempered glass" marked with marks "TEMPERED" or "SAFETY".

It is advisable to choose with a colored shutter (adjacent part). Transparent glare in the sun and turns yellow over time.

In order not to lose it under water, I advise you to replace the original strap (strap) with another one with a neoprene headband and a nylon strap (buckle) with Velcro. It is quick and easy to adjust. You can wear it and fit it on your head. The nylon sling does not crack or burst. It is stronger than silicone.

How to do, how to make sure the mask does not sweat

You will need a lighter, tissue paper, or toilet paper.

  • Fire the glass evenly from the inside. Carefully so as not to melt the frame. Do not be confused by traces of soot - this is normal.
  • Wipe down the glass with a tissue to remove carbon deposits and traces of burnt silicone.
  • Before entering the water, spit on dry glass and rub it with your fingers. Then rinse and put on.

Just Breath Pro Diving Mask

Compared to a conventional mask, the Just Breath Pro has an almost panoramic view of 180 °. You can breathe through your mouth and nose in this helmet, it does not fog up. The whole secret is in the principle of ventilation. Exhaled air is discharged through the lateral silicone and then plastic troughs, and enters back. Thus, the air circulates and is constantly renewed. You can swim for hours, no inconvenience.

The only thing is that the mask needs to be sized. Otherwise, a gap appears under the chin, and water floods the face.
