Nokia 7100 Supernova review

The Nokia 7100 Supernova is the youngest model in the Supernova line. The case is made in a fashionable slider form factor and is a rather interesting design solution in a number of budget phones intended primarily for the female half of the population.

The main trump card of the model with its functionality is the price. Before Nokia, no one had dared to equip a phone of this class with a QVGA display.

The model is available in three colors, you can choose between red (Nokia 7100 supernova Jelly Red), black (Nokia 7100 Supernova Jelly Red, Nokia 7100 Supernova Black) and blue (Nokia 7100 Supernova Fresh Blue).

But in all versions, the front panel is black and blue, glossy. The block of function keys and the rear panel differ in color. The device is quite compact, weighing 104 grams. Such a device can be carried anywhere, it fits perfectly in the hand.

The model has a very strong functionality in its sector. There is even a bit of an image here that you usually can't buy for a phone like that. We continue the description of Nokia 7100 Supernova with the characteristics of its display. The phone has a TFT screen with a resolution of 240x320 pixels. The diagonal of the display is 2 inches (31x41 mm), it can display up to 65000 colors. The picture looks good, it is bright and pleasant, despite the limited number of displayed colors. The screen fits up to 9 lines of text and up to 3 service lines. In the sun, the glossy glass glares a little, but due to toning, the information remains readable.

Under the display itself there are buttons that are standard for this form factor: a four-position navigation joystick, control controls and the OK button itself.

Press on the top of the Nokia 7700 and slide the slider apart. The inner panel is equipped with a 12-key keyboard. Moreover, the buttons are very textured, which makes typing SMS texts very, very convenient.

Despite its seemingly simplicity, the phone is made of high-quality plastic, and the rich colors of the body will draw attention to your Nokia 7700 Supernova.

Let's move on to the other modules and features that this inexpensive, feminine slider boasts. Nokia 7100 Supernova is not deprived of the photo. It carries on board a 1.3-megapixel camera with a CMOS matrix.

The camera, however, does not have autofocus and flash in its arsenal. Nevertheless, the unit does some pretty decent shots for the entry-level. Video recording is available.

The phone supports Bluetooth protocol version 2.0 with EDR, Wi-Fi is not provided in the device. The Nokia 7100 Supernova carries a small memory stack on board, with only about 7.5 MB at your disposal. And you will not be able to expand the memory, the manufacturer did not provide expansion cards. This is perhaps the only serious limitation of the device. But the phone boasts full radio functionality.

The phone is not a smartphone, the Nokia 7100 Supernova comes with firmware from the fifth edition S40 series (5th edition), but with all the typical programs and games that usually come with the bundle. Of course, you can download any applications, additional software or games from the Internet for free and install it on your phone. You do not need any additional instructions or drivers for configuration.

Nokia 7100 Supernova is equipped with a BL-4S 860 mAh Li-Ion battery. This should be enough to provide the device with energy in standby mode up to 430 hours, and a protracted conversation can last up to 8 and a half hours. In the test, the Nokia 7100 Supernova easily lasted 3 days, and this is with its active use. So it is possible to predict work under a standard load of up to 4 days.

Conclusion

Nokia 7700 Supernova is a budget mobile phone and absolutely unsuitable for those who are going to listen to music, download large amounts of information, store a lot of photos and pictures. In general, the phone will appeal to those who are only going to make calls, send SMS and occasionally go online.
