Log Russia, elves and cute cats converge in an astral battle with the USSR, orcs and the undead! And this is not kitsch, but a good online game.

There are at least two good reasons to play Allods Online. The first is the reluctance to pay for a monthly subscription: Allods Online is one of the shareware massively multiplayer online games. If the game mechanics of "Allods" are World of Warcraft plus flights to the Astral on a very expensive own ship, then the form in which adventures are clothed is close to all our compatriots. The presence of elves and orcs in the "Allods" should not deceive the patriot: the elves are in a strong alliance with Kania (practically ancient Russia with the capital Novograd), and the orcs willingly work as policemen in Nezebgrad, the capital of the Khadagan Empire (practically the USSR). On the streets of Nezebgrad there are almost Soviet barrels of kvass, and on the central square stands the Yasker Tower - a cyclopean building strikingly similar to the Palace of Soviets never built in Moscow; the difference is minimal - instead of the granite Ilyich, on the top of the skyscraper there is a statue of the local leader and teacher - the great magician Nezeb.

Even passing jokes ("astral traveler Fyodor Konyukhin" and "commander Georgy Zhukin") are intended for Russian-speaking people who are firsthand familiar with Russian reality. If the server population were exclusively intellectuals, the in-game massacre would be a curious competition.

If the server population were purely intelligentsia, the in-game carnage would represent a curious conflict between staunch communist-imperial technocrats and fanatical liberal soil-lovers.In reality, the intelligentsia in "Allods" is small, the prevailing motivation of the players is not to act out roles, heroically fighting for the Empire or the League, but to get magic weapons and uniforms for the characters, measure an article and communicate. In this respect, Russian Allods are similar to all other massive multiplayer games - American, Korean, Chinese, etc.

These little differences

Naturally, "Allods Online" differs from its analogues, and not only in its national flavor (light birch groves and priests-political instructors). The game has a lot of unique "amenities": a formidable druid war squirrel, thin lace underwear of elves, a class of mystics (who have a unique opportunity to communicate with colleagues from the opposite faction), a race of gibberlings, real mas-cats "Allods". Lovely intelligent kittens walk everywhere in threes and do everything together - gain levels, jump, die.

In contrast to many online games, the history of the world of Sarnaut, torn apart by a long-standing cataclysm on the islands hanging in the Astral, is described in detail and fascinating; which is valuable, game tasks are closely related to history and cosmology. The allody islands are diverse: by gaining levels, players visit snow-covered plains, deserts and jungles. Goblins, demons, giant poisonous toads, wooden cathedrals and strange astral structures look great. Perhaps the only drawback of the graphics is not a large number of animations: the killed monsters have a habit of going into an inanimate state instantly, without convulsions, and it is proposed to convey the emotions of the characters with emoticons over their heads (while in similar games, characters can dance and make obscene gestures). However, with external restraint, Russian elves, orcs and mechano-zombies have a rich inner world: the characters have a dozen main characteristics, the ability to choose skills and "development milestones." All this allows you to make your hero truly unique.

Combat missions to the Astral The gaining experience in "Allods" is more or less traditional - on the way to the maximum level there are mainly solo adventures on the surface, dungeons for groups of six players and raids for four groups. But the so-called endgame - what the players do when the characters reach the "ceiling" - is unusual. At level 35, characters can begin quests leading to permission to build their own Astral Ship. The ship takes a hundred days to build; heroic adventures and daily quests cut the time by three times, and investing crystals can further speed up the process. Astral ships are designed for six characters involved in management, firing and repair, so it is highly desirable for the player to have friends or be a member of the guild.

Adventures in the Astral are varied; to land on the island where monsters keep treasure chests, you need to overcome the resistance of monsters moving in the astral plane. Even after successfully completing an adventure on the island, you can be attacked by a ship of the opposing faction; a firefight with the use of cannons and ray guns, as a rule, ends with a boarding attempt.

Outcome

The only Russian online massively multiplayer role-playing game of AAA-class to date looks dignified against the background of competitors. Allods Online will attract patriots with clear jokes, and cosmopolitans with an allergy to birch trees may be interested in traveling and battles in the Astral. The developers of the game are conscientiously expanding the content: new play zones, new adventures and raids regularly appear, and new layers are discovered in the Astral.

In "Allods" there are many ways to make money on the players, but showing endurance, dexterity and ingenuity, you can counteract excessive monetization.
