HOW TO CHOOSE A TV BRACKET - How to choose a TV mount

  1. What wall do I have?

A concrete or brick wall will support any panel. Single-layer drywall will not stand up to anything (if you have one, see the advice in the last section of this article). You can hang a small technical monitor on a two-layer drywall, but we would not risk a telecom.

  2. What is the distance between the mounting holes on my TV?

Most models use VESA standard sizes. It includes a variety of horizontal and vertical hole spacing options. Measure your distances and match the bracket with the same standard. The heavier the TB, the greater the distance and the larger the diameter of the threads in the bolts for fastening.

  3. What is the weight of my TV?

The maximum allowable weight for the bracket must exceed the weight of the TV panel by at least a quarter.

  4. What are the vertical and horizontal dimensions of my TV?

The dimensions of the device are more important than the diagonal. Knowing these will help you better calculate where the panel will hit the wall.

  5. Are there any mounting bolts in the bracket I have chosen?

A good manufacturer takes everything into account.

How to Choose the Right TV Wall Bracket: Fixed Type

There are three types of brackets. The first is fixed. It is a curved plate for which the TV is hung on bolts in the wall.

Leaves a minimum distance between the TV and the wall. The TV is fixed motionless, like a picture, it cannot be rotated or tilted. If the holes are wider, an adapter plate can be used.

Nuance:

If the TV's connectors are located at the back, the fixed fasteners will not allow the cables to be connected.

How to choose a TV bracket: tilted mount type

This is the second type of attachment. According to the specification, it allows you to adjust the tilt of the panel at an angle of 10-15 degrees.

In reality, with large sizes and cables connected from the back, the angle is reduced to several degrees.

TV bracket: how to choose a tilt-swivel

The third type of attachment. Allows you to shift the TV horizontally, change the vertical and horizontal viewing angles. A mandatory option for installing the panel in a corner and in a studio apartment.

There are one-, two- and three-knee. Two or three bends are needed for large panels, as they allow them to be rotated at a greater angle.

Nuance:

The swing arm may have a wide landing pad that overlaps the connector panel.

How to choose a TV bracket: ceiling mount type

The fourth type is salvation for the owners of drywall walls. Also good for large apartments. The panel is fixed to the ceiling with a rod. It can be tilted, rotated, and its height changed.

If you need more interesting options, then a tilt-swivel can be attached to the ceiling bracket.
