Timely maintenance of the cooker keeps it clean, allowing it to function normally. Any fresh dirt can be easily removed from the surface with a damp sponge. Wipe down the hob and oven immediately after cooking - this will save you time and ease the efforts of the hostess.

Cookers have different types of hobs:

  • enameled;
  • made of stainless steel;
  • glass-ceramic.

How and how to wash the stove: an enamelled stove

When cleaning the enamel surfaces of a gas or electric stove, use pasty and liquid preparations intended for washing dishes. Clean the stove with a sponge and dishwashing liquid. Blot the soapy water with paper and wipe the surface with a clean, damp cloth.

Use baking soda to remove stubborn stains from the stove. Then wipe the surface with a sponge dipped in a mixture of ammonia and water (at the rate of 1 teaspoon of alcohol per 1 liter of water). Removable parts of the stove, soaked in hot soapy water, and washed thoroughly with a brush.

To avoid damaging the enamelled surface of the stove during cleaning, do not use:

  • acid;
  • abrasive cleaning agents;
  • metal sponges and hard sponges.

How and how to clean a stainless steel plate

Wipe the stainless steel surface with a dotted motion rather than a circular motion.

For daily care:

  • treat stainless steel with a damp sponge;
  • spray glass cleaner or special spray onto the steel surface;
  • wipe dry with microfiber;
  • rinse with water and polish with a dry towel.

To remove stubborn stains, apply a stainless steel cleaner or thick baking soda paste mixed with water. Leave it on for 30 minutes and dry with a damp cloth. Rinse with clean water and buff.

Hard-to-reach places on the surface of the stove can be conveniently cleaned with an old toothbrush.

The stainless steel plate must not be cleaned:

  • aggressive chemical solutions;
  • bleaches;
  • abrasive substances.

How to clean an induction hob

Special detergents for glass-ceramic surfaces are applied only to the cooled panel. Upon completion of cleaning, they are washed off, as they corrode the coating. To remove the remnants of burnt food on the surface of the ceramic, scrapers are used. After removing all stains and dirt, wipe the hob with a soft dry cloth. Keep the burners dry as wet pots or salt water splashes will destroy the glass ceramics.

For your information:

  • limescale is removed with a weak vinegar solution. If dishwashing detergents are used, bluish stains remain on the glass ceramics;
  • grease splashes, water marks and discolored stains can be removed with a steel cleaner or special glass-ceramic care compounds.

Not recommended:

  • wipe the stove with a dishwashing sponge. There are traces of detergent or grease on it. When the stove is turned on, they burn out and discolor the surface;
  • use stain removers and oven sprays;
  • ingress of solid particles on the hob, they damage the glass-ceramic surface;
  • use of detergents containing soap. A small amount of soap solution remaining on the glass-ceramic surface, when heated, burns and discolours it.

How to clean the oven?

Among the wide range of household chemicals, there is an easy way to remove fat from the oven - it is to steam:

  • pour water into a wide heat-resistant container;
  • add a little dish detergent or crushed soap to it;
  • put the container in the oven and close tightly;
  • heat to 100-150 ° C, boil water for 15 minutes;
  • turn off the stove and let it cool;
  • open the door and clean the interior surfaces with a soapy sponge;
  • wipe dry.

A thick layer of fat in the oven is removed in another way:

  • connect together 1 tbsp. a spoonful of vinegar, baking soda and liquid soap;
  • apply on a dirty surface and leave for 15 minutes;
  • wash off the product with warm water;
  • for heavy dirt, repeat.

The above method cleans old dirt well and does not damage the enamel. With it, baking trays, handles and grates are successfully wiped off.
