A tent is something you can't do without on a hike. How and where you put it will determine how you relax. Therefore, the question should be approached thoroughly.
Place for a tent
We choose the site based on the following:- the surface is flat, without stones, roots and branches;
- the place is not sloping, so that vacationers do not roll onto each other. If you put it on a slope, orient it so that you sleep on a dais;
- the distance to the fire is at least 3 meters;
- the distance to the water is at least 5 meters to avoid dampness in the tent;
- trees, large stones and bushes should not block the entrance to the tent;
- away from the nests.
Clear the area of branches and small stones. They don't put up a tent on tall grass - the grass collects moisture. Do not place near dry or rotten trees either. The hour is not even, some branch will break off and fall.
Setting up the tent
The installation sequence depends on the type of tent - they have different designs.
Distinguish:
- hemisphere: universal type. Suitable for both a difficult hike and a weekend trip to the forest. The frame consists of two crossed arcs. The tent is made of "breathable" material, the outer protection is an awning made of waterproof fabric.
- half roll. Parallel arc construction. They do not cross, so the tent is unstable - additional struts are required.
- tent: the support of the tent is the central post on which the awning is attached.
- gable tent: the "classic" style of the Soviet era. They are still popular today - light weight, compact and cheap.
The sequence of actions for setting up a tent "hemisphere":
- spread the floor (lower part of the tent) on the ground;
- assembling the frame... Arcs are tubes connected by a nylon tape or thread. We fasten the arcs crosswise. We fix the ends in the holes in the base of the tent;
- we attach the tent to the frame plastic hooks. Snap the top to the intersection of the arcs.
- we throw an awning on topafter checking where the inlet is. We set up the vestibule of the tent (this is an additional part of the tent in front of the entrance, where things are folded and changed)
The tent is ready.
