HOW TO CHOOSE TIGHTS - what warm and high-quality tights are best to choose for the winter, their types

Well-chosen tights keep you warm in the cold and (yes!) Attract the eyes of men. To determine the size, you need to know your height, weight and hip size. See the size chart on the packaging, look for "OWN" designation.

Remember the main thing:

  • Woolen and cotton are the warmest, but gradually become obsolete. Often they jump after washing, "prick", irritate sensitive skin, and have rough seams. And (oh horror!) Our legs are fat.
  • Synthetic ones, and even worse, are not an option for winter - they do not heat, do not breathe and quickly break.
  • Winter tights with a combined composition, in which natural materials and synthetics are present, impeccably warm with their warmth, wear-resistant, and sit on your feet like a glove.

How to choose tights by composition

The secret of the quality of tights is in their composition. See on the label what the product is made of. Popular types with a combined structure:

  • cotton - polyamide - elastane,
  • viscose - polyamide - elastane,
  • wool - lycra - microfiber.

To choose good winter tights, pay special attention to the ratio of polyamide to elastane. Polyamide is responsible for strength, elastane - for extensibility and good fit to the body.

  • If the composition of elastane is less than 5%, the tights will slip and "wrinkle".
  • 10% -25% - evenly and tightly "sit" on the leg, as if specially sewn for you.

High-quality models use polyamide-wrapped elastane. From this, the product becomes more wearable. Check the quality factor - look at the pantyhose in the light. The tree-like pattern of the canvas, like on a stump of a recently cut tree or similar to fingerprints, is an indicator of strength. The clearer the pattern, the denser the wrapping.

The presence of lycra (aka dorlastan and spandex) provides a spectacular look and elasticity of the tights. Just like elastane, lycra fits the leg perfectly, does not form folds, and makes the product shine.

  • Its maximum content in winter models is 30%,
  • In tights of medium density - 20%.

Microfiber is a polyamide thread consisting of many very thin threads. The more it is in the yarn, the softer the tights feel. Microfiber products are velvety, warmer and stronger than usual. They are not inferior to natural materials in terms of hygroscopicity - they excellently remove moisture and air. They are comfortable even if you often have to go outside and return from frost to a warm room.

What tights are the most durable - we study the density +5 useful little things

The density of tights is determined by the thickness of the yarn. It is expressed in den (den) and denotes how many grams 9 kilometers of thread weigh in the model you like.

  • 20-40 den is good for the off-season,
  • 50-80 den - for cold weather,
  • 120-250 den and above are the warmest.

The denser the material of the dress or skirt, the more denier your legs should be.

The quality formula for each of us is individual. But before you buy, take a closer look at the product.

  • Seams... In good tights, they are flat and neat. In poor quality products, they are roughly marked and round. Feel the seams, there should be no scarring. When stretched, they should practically merge with the main surface. Otherwise, they will show through clothes, sometimes - rub the skin.
  • Models with shorts, panties or large insert tighten certain parts of the body due to the increased density of the material. It is convenient in everyday wear - the compacted zones will protect the tights from holds and arrows.
  • Low rise tights, as well as high, have a wide or narrow belt. Wide (3-4 cm) is more practical: tights will not slip and curl.Low-waisted models are good for jeans or a skirt.
  • The presence of a gusset... This diamond-shaped piece of fabric, sewn into the crotch of the tights, encourages free walking. Without this detail, the product "sits down" worse on the figure and rubs between the legs. A good gusset is sewn from cotton, in simpler models - from the same material as the product itself.
  • Reinforced toe and heel will not tear for a long time in everyday wear. These tights are easier to put on, they do not twist.

How to choose warm, slimming tights

Dense, with curly knit or lurex, only emphasize the beautiful legs of tall girls. If you need to add volume, choose light openwork products. The larger the knit, the fuller the legs appear.

Stylists recommend: To highlight the legs, choose bright, solid tights and wear with clothes that are seasoned in a maximum of two colors. And be sure to complement the image with a minor detail to match the tights - a scarf, jewelry or lipstick on the lips.

Winter tights with a vertical or small pattern in the same tone as the shoes visually lengthen the legs. And the horizontal and large ornament - be it a cage, a goose foot pattern or a heart, on the contrary, make you look fat. If the legs are fat, do not experiment.

It is better for puffy ladies with thick legs to wear solid tights of dark cold colors (blue, mocha, black, chocolate). It is worth giving up the shine of lurex and glossy textures.
