Which vacuum cleaner is better to buy - a vacuum cleaner without a bag or with a bag, which is better than a vacuum cleaner with a bag or with a container

Vacuum cleaners differ in many parameters, including the type of dust collector, one of the most important.

By the type of dust collector, the units are divided:

  • with a container for garbage. Dirt and dust, passing through the filters, are sucked into a special container: a disposable or reusable bag. The first ones after filling are freed from debris and used 2-3 more times, disposables are thrown away;
  • without dust container - with dust container. They use the principle of a cyclone - air drawn in by a vacuum cleaner passes through two cyclones. The air spirals in the outer cyclone, where it leaves behind coarse dirt and dust. Most of the dust is deposited on the separating plate, while the inner cyclone removes small particles from the air. Dust settles in the container. After cleaning, the container is freed from dirt, dust and washed.

Which vacuum cleaner is better to buy with a bag or container? Consider the features of each type of unit.

Vacuum cleaners with garbage bag

Bag vacuum cleaners have the following advantages:

  • lower noise level. The best models of bagless vacuum cleaners produce noise of 72-73 dB, and with a replaceable dust collector - by 67-68 dB;
  • the capacity of bags is greater than that of containers;
  • easy maintenance: reusable bags need to be cleaned less frequently than containers, and disposable bags are not needed at all - they are thrown away.

Disadvantages:

  • decrease in engine power as the dust container fills. In some cases, if the bag overflows, the engine may burn out;
  • the cost of buying bags.

Vacuum cleaners with container

Among the advantages of vacuum cleaners with a container (cyclone system) are the following:

  • stable suction power, which does not change with the degree of filling of the container;
  • there are no additional costs for the purchase of garbage bags;
  • long service life due to the high reliability of the engine, which does not interfere with an overfilled container;
  • the presence of a filtration system for outgoing air.

Disadvantages:

  • more expensive compared to analogs with bags;
  • more noisy;
  • cleaning the container is mandatory after each cleaning.

What to choose? Depends on your preferences and financial capabilities. Bag vacuum cleaners are easy to operate and cheaper. Cyclone vacuums will last longer but are more expensive and require maintenance.
