Nokia 6700 this is a full-fledged replacement for the already slightly outdated, but very successful Nokia 6300. I can even say that Nokia 6300 received two receivers at once. The first can be considered the flagship of the classic series - Nokia 6700, and the second device Nokia 6303, which is also absolutely identical in price to the 6300 itself. Of course, both new models look more attractive.
These are the phones that bring the maximum number of sales for nokia. These are the usual classic monoblocks with a chic metal case. Competitors have never managed to beat nokia in this segment and form factor.
Therefore, the choice of form factor for this device is not surprising. If you find fault, then the device is really similar to other devices in design, but this is not entirely true, for the first time in Nokia 6700 we deal with an updated platform offering new technologies (UNC, CABC). So we can conclude that Nokia 6700 is a very interesting model, and it will conquer the market once again.
There is no one to compete with the Nokia 6700 at the moment. If we consider, for example, the analogue of Sony Ericsson C510, we will see that its characteristics are much worse, although its cost is 35 euros lower.
Another Sony Ericsson model has the same characteristics as the Nokia 6700, but its price is 70 euros more. This situation gives the new model a good competitive advantage and arouses interest. The pressure on prices from other manufacturers is enormous.
At the end of the review of the positioning of the device, you can see that the Nokia 6700 has also replaced the Nokia 6500 classic on the market.
Design, dimensions, controls
At first, four official color schemes were announced - black and brown, chrome and brushed steel, but later the model with a brown body was removed, although it does not look bad either.
The device weighs 116.5 grams. and has dimensions of 109.8 * 45 * 11.2 mm. The model fits nicely in the hand and will appeal to many buyers.
The back panel of the case is made of stainless steel.
I think black is the most practical color, the same could be said about Nokia 6300.

Therefore, it is even logical to compare the device with the Nokia 8800 Arte, the same materials and aesthetics, but the functionality of the 6700 is ahead, this is another plus.

The display here is QVGA with a resolution of 240x320 pixels and a diagonal of 2.2. The display is excellent, but it cannot be otherwise - the picture is beautiful and juicy, displays 16 million.
What is most interesting is that there is also a standard light sensor, as on most phones and, as already mentioned about new technologies, the screen changes the brightness of the backlight even depending on what you have on the screen.
CABC technology - saves your eyesight and also saves energy. An excellent solution, agree.
In conclusion, I repeat once again that the display is excellent and does not suffer from the same problems that nokia had before.
Keyboard
The keypad is recessed into the body, it is one-piece - therefore, a pleasant feeling when pressed, creates the effect of the wholeness of the phone. This is not to say that the keyboard is bad or good, it is normal and will suit many, you quickly get used to it.
The backlighting of the keys also looks good, I liked the light color, the navigation key also blinks, signaling missed events, by the way, it is also quite convenient.
Battery
The battery in the phone is BL-6Q with a capacity of 960 mAh.
Not a bad indicator - 5 hours of talk time and more than 300 hours of standby time. I will say from my own experience - if you use the phone completely, that is, for a little each function, then it works up to three days.
Memory
The device has about 170 megabytes of free space available. The set includes cards for 1gb, microSD format. But you can put a card of any size there.
Performance
Absolutely ordinary Series 40 of the latest generation, nothing special.
Communications
There is a USB connector for connecting to a computer, at a speed of up to 1 MB per second, by the way, charging occurs when connected. The device also supports Bluetooth - 2.1 with EDR support. The bluetooth speed is not very high, but almost all protocols are supported.
Camera
The camera here is 5 megapixels with auto focus, there is also an LED flash, unfortunately not xenon. But on the other hand, it can be noted that this is only the second product with this kind of camera implemented on the Series 40.

The only difference between the device and other earlier devices on the series 40 of the latest generation is the presence of links to social services, but I think this is just nothing special.
There is GPS navigation, maps are installed - Nokia Maps version 1.2, but the license is only for 30 days. In general, the GPS is normal, but the phone is not positioned as a navigation one either.
Also, not without a complete set of ovi services, if someone needs them.
The menu themes have become a nice feature.
Conclusion
It should be noted the UNC technology, which came from accessories, in particular, Bluetooth headsets, it calculates the voice and makes it clearer, especially it helps in noisy places - you hear better and you too, and if you consider that people who take this device , they talk quite a lot - this is a useful function.
I also liked the aspiration of the device to premium - for example, the built-in motion sensor, as on the 8800, allows you to turn off the call by tapping your fingers on the body, and the sound drops to a minimum, a convenient thing for offices and various meetings. The situation is the same with the watch in standby mode as on the 8800 Arte.
The phone is good and successful. If you do not need a smartphone and you have 270 euros, which is the starting price, then this is the best solution. For example, I find it much more pleasant to handle a phone like this than a touch device. Moreover, this is nokia and 6700 everyone will know!
This model is difficult to dispute, the cost and materials, camera and display, it turned out to create a very strong competitor. And today the time has come and we can say that there are already masses of satisfied customers. And the price for this device now hangs at the level of only 250 USD.
There is already a Nokia 6700 Slide on the market with similar characteristics, but in a different form factor and the Series 60, which fits quite well into the criteria: when you need a 6700-class phone, you want something special in terms of form factor, you want a metal case and Series capabilities. 60. With the release of these two models, you can safely expect a change in the 8000 series, although there is already some information on the network about the future model.
Finally, I will say that this unusual move will reshape the concept of a flagship in the classic segment and make other models of other manufacturers unsuccessful, destroying their sales. Why pay more for similar functionality in a cheap plastic case, if there is a product from the leader - a Finnish brand, in good design and metal.
