Review of the game "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix".

Have you ever been to a trade show that has an oval wheel bike ride? Well, on a bike that you get paid for, if you manage to ride at least a few meters? So, if you manage to go down the stairs in the latest Harry Potter game using the mouse and keyboard, then I will pay you a thousand hryvnia. (Note: I am blatantly lying.)

You control Harry with the WASD keys and the mouse. But WASD works relative to the direction of the camera, and you cannot rotate the camera. Confused? Still would! You will be embarrassed when Harry writes drunk curves on the screen, his arched arm with a magic wand dangles like a weathervane under the blows of a hurricane, and Ron repeats, like a madman: "Well, why don't we go to the library?"

However, the discovery of Harry's complete uncontrollability awaits you only behind the endlessly long and tedious introductory plot scene. Even the most devoted fan of the series will want immediate death to everyone, and then to himself, when he sees the "acting" in their terrifying "zombie" game incarnations.

Those who survive the intro cutscene and find the strength to cope with the controls will find themselves in the dubious value of a mixture of Harry Potter, Bully and a powerful migraine. You can explore Hogwarts by completing various mini "quests", opening secret rooms and talking with students. But if you deviate a little from the direction of the main "quest" - the terrible events of the fifth book, in which a new teacher of protection against black magic tries to seize control of Hogwarts - and the game immediately hits you in the face with an oar. Your companions begin to whine, and the ghost of John Cleese materializes nearby and insistently advises you to go in the opposite direction.

"Quests" include running around a huge school in search of specific people, attending classes, learning spells and fighting enemies. Spells (like "levitation" and "fireballs") are your main weapon - they are invoked by drawing certain patterns with the mouse. When you are not fighting ghouls, you can use spells to repair broken bowls, open curtains and move statues. All these actions give you blue balls, with the help of which you increase your level and open secret places.

Oh, those secrets! .. In the gallery you can watch clips in which the actors from the film tell you what a wonderful game you are playing now. “She exceeded my expectations in what the game could achieve in terms of ... realism,” says Emma Watson, unsuccessfully hiding her real thoughts with her expression.

"Quests" are most often perceived as routine daily work (tasks of training missions are routine, like house cleaning routine); and although the system of calling spells and sharpened under the mouse, it is very difficult to aim them at the target, and the "levitated" objects regularly disappear under the stairs and in the windows.

Despite the fact that the game was developed for a "gamepad" with two "ministicks", it refused to recognize the first two that I connected to the computer. Fortunately, she "recognized" the "gamepad" from the XOX 360, thanks to which it even became possible to play it. It is better not to touch it without a "gamepad". Yes, EA, pay attention, for some reason “PC” is written on the box of this console game ...

Finally, if you have not read the book, then you will not understand the plot of the game, because a number of key events of the original are excluded from it. This is how minimally fun on consoles became totally unacceptable on PC.
