In early 2011, Hewlett Packard released the EliteBook line. New models are labeled xx60. These are such laptops: ultraportable 12-inch model 2560p, laptop-convertible 2760p, as well as fourteen-inch devices 8460p and 8460w, fifteen-inch 8560p and 8560w, and the largest representative - 8760w, which has a display diagonal of 17.3 inches. The most popular among them are the 8560p and 8560w. I would like to note that laptops with the letter "w" at the end are distinguished by tremendous performance and power. Such workstations (workstation) can solve all resource-intensive tasks. We will talk about just such a device - the HP EliteBook 8560w - in today's review.
Appearance
All models in the EliteBook series have a distinctive design with a minimum of creativity and maximum pedantry. Their body is flat enough with right angles. Our fifteen-inch workstation is no exception. The HP EliteBook 8560p is made of magnesium alloy and aluminum. Visually, it seems that the lid and topcase of the laptop are made of one piece of metal. The body does not bend or creak at any point. It has an embossed texture that does not leave dust and fingerprints on the surface. What's more, the device meets the military MIL-STD 8710G durability and ruggedness standard (resistance to dust, vibration, moisture, temperature extremes, and altitude changes).
The dimensions of this model are 38.2 x 25.75 x 3.45 cm, and the approximate weight is three kilograms. The metal hinge hinges securely hold the display cover. So, the build quality of the laptop is exemplary. For such maximum reliability, it was tested for a long time by prof. suitability.
Replaceable components are hidden under the bottom panel. Getting to the hard drive and RAM slots is very easy. The bottom of the device is rubberized, which allows it not to slip on any kind of surface.
Screen and sound
The laptop has a matrix with a diagonal of 39.6 cm (15.6 inches). The EliteBook 8560p is available in different configurations: HD + WVA anti-glare LED-backlit display (1600x900), Full HD WVA anti-glare LED-backlit display (1920x1080). The laptop display will in all cases be matte, that is, you will not be disturbed by glare in bright sunlight. So, the HP EliteBook 8560p laptop is very comfortable to work on the street.
Contrast and saturation are just great. Brightness and brilliance also do not raise any questions. The screen reproduces colors clearly and accurately using HP DreamColor technology from DreamWorks Animation Corporation and Hewlett-Packard. The image looks realistic and believable.
When the display position is changed, the visibility is slightly impaired. Moreover, the horizontal viewing angles are greater than the vertical ones. Vertical inversion is visible almost immediately. But, with the help of a matte finish, the image remains readable.
This business laptop has a decent SRS Premium Sound system. Its built-in stereo speakers sound pretty high quality, deep and loud. This, of course, is not the most important factor for EliteBook laptops, but it will be pleasant for every user to plunge into the interesting world of cinema at their leisure. The device also has two microphones, a volume control and a mute button.
Keyboard and touchpad
In addition to the standard touchpad and keyboard for a laptop, EliteBook laptops are also equipped with a trackpoint. It is a complete replacement for the touch pad with "mouse" buttons.
The HP EliteBook 8560p has a full-size spill-resistant keyboard that is designed with an insulated shape. Fingers very easily find the necessary buttons, which are pressed quietly and naturally. The backing does not bend at all under the pressure of the hands. It's a shame the keyboard doesn't have a backlight. Instead, an LED flashlight was installed in the display frame, which automatically pops up in low light.
The trackpoint was placed between the keys H, G, B. It has a rubberized dotted surface. Thanks to it, you can quite easily control the cursor, but it takes some getting used to.The pointstick has three keys: the space bar and the two mouse buttons below it.
The surface of the touchpad is a bit rough. It has a small size, so it is quite easy to use. The panel can recognize multi-gesture. So, with these touch controls, you don't need a regular mouse.
Performance
Now let's discuss the stuffing of the laptop. There are five different HP EliteBook 8560p processors. All of them belong to the Intel Sandy Bridge family (Core i7-2630QM, Core i7-2620M, Core i5-2540M, Core i7-2820QM, Core i5-2520M). There are also various professional graphics cards: NVIDIA Quadro 1000M, AMD FirePro M5950, and NVIDIA Quadro 2000M.
We'll talk about the HP EliteBook 8560w (XX058AV), which is featured on F.ua. It has an Intel Core i7-2630QM processor built on the Sandy Bridge architecture. This fast quad-core CPU is clocked at 2000 MHz. With Turbo Boost technology, the clock speed reaches 2900 MHz. There is also a special feature called Hyper-Threading, which allows the processor to process up to 8 threads simultaneously. The cache memory is 6144 KB.
The Core i7-2630QM has an integrated graphics card (Intel HD Graphics 3000) with a frequency of 650-1100 MHz (with Turbo Boost). However, the main advantage of the laptop is the professional adapter NVIDIA Quadro 2000M. The Quadro line has only certified drivers. They are optimized for professional use (CAD, DCC) and work in the visualization of areas and the medical field. In order to play on this card, you need to install drivers from the GeForce line.
The flash memory capacity is 256 GB. An SSD has no moving parts, so it is faster, more reliable and quieter than a hard drive. Also, the laptop has 8 GB of DDR3 1333 MHz memory. This amount of RAM is more than enough for comfortable work in any application.
Ports and communications
A lot of useful interfaces and connectors have been placed on the ends of this compact laptop. There are: 2 USB 2.0 ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, an eSATA / USB combo port, DisplayPort, VGA for a monitor, a 1394a interface, an Express Card / 54 slot, RJ-45 and RJ-11 connectors, a fingerprint scanner and a card reader. There is also a headphone output and a stereo microphone input.
There is a docking station connector at the bottom of the device. The developers have also installed a connector for an additional battery.
An integrated HD webcam allows you to conduct any video conferencing. A Blu-ray ROM DVD +/- RW SuperMulti DL drive is available for optical discs. To access wireless networks, there are Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n modules. There is no support for 3G networks.
The notebook is powered by an HP 8-cell high-capacity Li-ion battery (75 Wh).

In general, this laptop will be appreciated only by those who constantly work with serious applications and programs (for example, for design) in different climatic conditions.
