WHAT IS MICELLAR WATER AND WHAT IT IS NECESSARY FOR - the composition of the micellar liquid, how to use it, how to do it yourself

Let's give a precise definition:

Micellar water - cleanses the skin, while it does not contain soap and other alkaline components. This water removes makeup, unclogs pores and tones the skin.

Unlike soap and other cleansers

  • does not dry
  • softens,
  • moisturizes
  • refreshes the skin.

The name of micellar water comes from the Latin mica - "crumb, grain". This means the smallest droplets of components that are saturated with micellar lotion.

Micellar solution composition

  1. Water.
  2. Hexylene glycol: removes dead skin particles.
  3. Poloxamer 184: cleanses the skin of impurities.
  4. Glycerin: moisturizes and softens.
  5. Panthenol: A form of vitamin B1 that stimulates cell renewal.
  6. Polyaminopropyl - softens and protects the skin from bacteria.
  7. Extracts of herbs and essential oils: relieve inflammation, tone the skin, have an antiseptic effect.
  8. Minerals: help nourish the skin.

Why do you need micellar water?

None of the facial cosmetics cleanses the skin as gently as micellar water. Initially, it was intended for the care of delicate baby skin, but has shown excellent results in cosmetology. Thanks to it, you can easily get rid of acne and their consequences, smooth out fine expression lines, soothe and renew the skin.

Micellar water is suitable for all skin types:

  • normal,
  • dry,
  • oily,
  • combined,
  • sensitive.

When buying, it is worth examining the composition of the micellar water in order to choose the one that suits your skin type. Avoid products containing alcohol, silicone, and dyes - they can be harmful to the skin.

How to use micellar water correctly

  1. Apply a small amount of micellar water to a cotton pad.
  2. Wipe your face and eye area from nose to temple - along the upper eyelid and from temple to nose - along the lower.
  3. To remove mascara and eyeliner, hold the disc over your eyelids for a few seconds. The makeup will come off instantly without leaving dark streaks on the face and under the eyes.

Micellar water may not work well with waterproof makeup. In this case, use a make-up remover and remove any residue with micellar water.

Should micellar water rinse off?

Manufacturers advise not to rinse the micellar water in order to continue the action of the components. But if you feel uncomfortable, then it is better to wash your face.
