Don't be afraid of your chandelier. As pretentious as its design, it hangs just like any other.
An action plan always consists of 5 steps:
- Prepare for connecting the wires on the cup (also called a cap, glass).
- Prepare the included mounting plate.
- Draw a circle around the ceiling for attaching the strip and screw it to the ceiling.
- Temporarily hang the chandelier on the hook to the bar - to connect the power cord and the lamp.
- Fasten the chandelier to the bracket.

Be sure to turn off the power at the electrical distribution board before working on the ceiling wiring.
Connecting a chandelier when a pair of wires sticks out of the ceiling
- Strip ~ 3 cm of insulation from the ends of all wires on the ceiling and in the glass.
- If there are several, choose from each one color and twist them together.
Do the same with the different colored wires.
- Twist any wire from the ceiling with any on the chandelier. Repeat this with the rest.
- Wrap electrical tape in place of the twists.
- Hang a chandelier.
Do not twist aluminum and copper wires together
This leads to their oxidation. Use a terminal adapter to connect them.

How to connect a chandelier when several wires come out of the ceiling and glass
- Among three or more, there may be a ground wire from the ceiling. Its task is to remove unnecessary charge from the luminaire body. If a wire leaves the body of your chandelier, then this brother is for him. If the product is not designed to be grounded, fold one over the ceiling and leave it alone.
- The rest of the wires on the ceiling are phase and zero. Zero is always one, and there can be two phases if you have a two-button switch. You can distinguish between the phase and zero using an indicator screwdriver: when in contact with the phase, the screwdriver glows, when in contact with zero, it does not.
You can only distinguish zero from grounding in practice.
If the device does not work after contact with a phase and an unknown wire, then this one is ground.
- If you have a one-button switch, then follow the plan in the previous section of this article.
- If the switch is two-key, find two phases and zero.
- On the chandelier, select the shades for one of the keys and twist the ends of their wires of the same color. Leave others free!
- Repeat the same with the shade wires for the other key.
- Twist the ends of free wires from ALL lampshades.
- Connect the twist from ALL lampshades to the zero wire.
- Connect the twist from the lampshades for one key to one of the phase wires.
- Connect the twist from the lampshades for the other key with another phase wire.
- Attach the chandelier to the ceiling.
How to hang a chandelier on a stretch ceiling
- To install the luminaire on a stretch ceiling, prepare a round hole in it at the desired point and run wires through it.
- The hole should be smaller than the base of the hood, but as wide as possible.
- Through this hole, attach a wooden block to the concrete ceiling so that it is above the stretch ceiling. The height of the bar should be equal to the distance between the concrete and stretch ceilings.
- Attach the fixing strip of the product to the bar and install the chandelier on the stretch ceiling.
Little trick
Before fixing the strip to the ceiling, insert the fixing bolts for the chandelier into it and fix them in the position that corresponds to the holes in the lamp base.
How to hang a chandelier on drywall
The plasterboard ceiling is rigid enough to support the weight of the chandelier. The fastening strip must be screwed directly onto it.However, the dowels are not suitable as they destroy the plaster. Instead, use anchor bolts with metal inserts that expand BEYOND the drywall due to screwing in the bolt.
