Yes, Samsung was one of the first to appreciate NVIDIA's endeavors and released a display that supports NVIDIA 3D Vision technology. A set of a monitor and special glasses with LCD shutters works as follows. On the screen with a frequency of 120 Hz, frames for the left and right eyes are displayed alternately. At this time, according to signals from the controller, the glasses alternately open one shutter and close the other. As a result, the viewer sees the picture on the monitor with one or the other eye - accordingly, the frames for the left and right eyes, calculated with some displacement of objects on them, change on the screen. The synchronization of the glasses and the display is controlled by an IR transmitter that connects to a computer via a USB port. For a comfortable pastime, you need not only a monitor with a 120 Hz refresh rate and fast response time, but also a sufficiently strong NVIDIA GeForce graphics adapter capable of delivering twice as many frames per second in games than is required for the usual "flat" mode. After all, pictures for the left and right eyes are counted separately. After a little adjustment of the drivers, all that remains is to put on glasses and sit more comfortably in the chair.
The monitor itself looks great. A glossy plastic case is located on an elegant leg. True, all this beauty fades, one has only to touch the device. Unfortunately, fingerprints and dust on the glossy surface of the monitor are very noticeable. Therefore, you will have to constantly wipe the Samsung 2233RZ. Probably because of this, the control keys were located on the side. On the back of the monitor there are connectors for connection interfaces. There is not much to brag about. For communication with the outside world, there are only DVI-D and VGA ports. HDMI is out of the question. If necessary, you will have to use adapters.
TEST PROCEDURE
When we got our hands on a gaming monitor, we certainly took full advantage of NVIDIA 3D Vision technology in the first place. If at first the eyes get very tired from a slight flicker, then later, after getting used to it, you really start to enjoy. In the sense that ordinary, familiar levels, objects, characters in games look completely different - like living ones. Don't worry, there are tons of games supported. And on the NVIDIA website, you can find a list of them, sorted by quality of 3D support as excellent, good, satisfactory, and not recommended. From a technical point of view, a colorimeter helped to check the Samsung 2233RZ for "lice". The result of measurements of the device was a graph where the lines of red, green and blue colors are located diagonally. The smoother the straight lines, the better the color rendition. In the opposite case (if there is a deviation of any color), we can state the fact that the monitor has problems with displaying colors.
CONCLUSIONS
But no problems were found. The graph turned out to be very even - therefore, the color rendering of the Samsung 2233RZ is at a high level.Considering that this is perhaps the cheapest 3D monitor, the choice for the enthusiast is obvious.
