Hikoki (Hitachi) - Hitachi (Hikoki)

Translated from Japanese, Koki means "power tool", and the prefix "Hi" means "high technology." HiKOKI, like Hitachi, will continue to innovate for professional power tools. The company's business card is still battery and power tools: drills, hammer drills, hydraulic pumps, chain saws, grinders and other tools for metal and woodworking.

The rebranding of the company will not affect the quality and design of previously released Hitachi tools. Other brands belonging to the manufacturer (Metabo, Sankyo, Tanaka, Carat, Hit-Min, Himac) do not change their names.

Hitachi (HiKOKI): new developments

  • Brushless motors with permanent power

Hitachi / HiKOKI has developed a new brushless motor technology for cordless and corded tools with powerful motors. AC brushless motors are more robust and more compact than carbon brush motors. Due to the fact that they do not have a collector, brushes and rotor windings, these parts do not break or burn out.

Their power output is higher than that of brushes of the same size. And thanks to the built-in controller, the tools deliver the same power even with surges or when running on a generator.

  • Economical and versatile batteries

HiKOKI has developed the Multi-Volt series batteries. In terms of size and weight, they are like 18-volt, and are compatible not only with tools of the same power, but also with models that are more powerful - at 36 V. Also suitable for Hitachi.

The trick of these batteries is that the electronics recognizes the type of instrument and allows you to smoothly switch from one platform to another. For powerful batteries, this is a must have: they consume current power twice as economically. As a result, they heat up less and give out more power. The Multi-Volt is now used on all models of cordless tools with powerful motors.

Managing Director of the company Yasushi Fukui sees good prospects for the Japanese manufacturer in the European market. He notes that HiKOKI (Hitachi) will only produce compact, mobile and autonomous power tools.
