LIFTING THE FOOT HURTS - what shoes to choose and how to lace up the laces

It is better for owners of wide feet to choose and buy shoes - shoes, sneakers or sneakers with a zigzag arrangement of holes for laces. With comfortable shoes for problem feet, you can lace up through the holes near the tongue. If you are wearing a shoe with a standard hole pattern, use the following method to lace up.

One-handed lacing method

This lacing does not pinch the foot and fixes the leg tightly. Will appeal to those who have a wide leg with a bone. Suitable for sneakers or sneakers with small holes and for short thick laces.

How to tie:

  • tie a knot at one end of the lace;
  • pass the other through the lower holes and pull until the knot locks into the hole;
  • pass one end of the lace in the upper opposite hole, and with the other, lace up in a zigzag to the very top;
  • insert the free end into the middle of the ties.

If your feet hurt at the top, skip one row of lacing where the pain is felt more strongly.

Cell lacing

Looks impressive on sneakers due to lacing three holes forward and one back. An image is obtained in the form of an oblique # symbol. The lacing is difficult to tighten, very wide legs are loose in such shoes.

How to tie:

  • pull the lace through the bottom holes;
  • skip two pairs of holes, cross the ends and thread into the third pair;
  • on the inside of the sneaker, go down one hole on both sides;
  • continue lacing as described in the second paragraph, crossing the ends of the laces each time, going up three pairs of holes and going down along the inside.

Star of David lacing

It turns out an elegant lacing in the form of a hexagram, which is not so easy to tighten if necessary. Comfortable for problem legs. You will need long, thin or flat laces.

How to tie:

  • pass the lace through the bottom holes;
  • direct the yellow (right) end diagonally to the left three holes up and pass through it;
  • then go down one hole on the inside;
  • bring the end of the lace to the hole horizontally, rise to the hole above;
  • make a horizontal line in the opposite direction;
  • go down along the inner edge to the hole down and go diagonally to the very top.

How to quickly tie shoelaces in narrow foot shoes without lifting

Choosing shoes with zigzag holes is the right choice if your feet are narrow. You can lace up through the holes farther from the tongue and pull on tighter to prevent chafing while walking. In regular sneakers or trainers, just tighten the laces. Below are different ways to tie your shoelaces quickly and in an original way.

High lock lacing

How to tie:

  • lace up the usual "criss-cross" to the penultimate holes at the top;
  • stretch the ends of the laces each on its own side from the outside to the extreme holes;
  • cross them, thread them into the resulting vertical ties on opposite sides.

It is better to do the lacing of the sneakers, having previously put on them. This will help you to properly adjust the density. Cotton laces tighten shoes better than silk or synthetic laces.

Segmental knotted lacing with reef knot

Sneakers or sneakers tied in this way are difficult to put on, but they tightly hold the foot. The pattern looks unusual, suitable for short laces.

How to tie:

  • lace the sneakers with the elongated end of the lace, crossing the ends to the middle;
  • if the foot is narrow, tighten the lower part of the lacing more, if wide - weaker;
  • to secure the rigidity, tie a Reef Knot in the middle of the lacing (or above / below):
    • cross the ends of the laces;
    • put one (red) on top of the other (blue) to form a half-knot;
    • cross them again - the red end over the blue;
    • tighten to form a knot;
  • continue lacing in a crisscross pattern to the top holes.

Double helix lacing

A simple, quick lacing method with a firm draw and easy loosening.

How to tie:

  • bring the bottom (blue) end out of the left hole, and feed the right (yellow) end to the right;
  • pass the left one into the upper right hole, and take the right one out of the left above;
  • lace up in a spiral to the uppermost holes.

How to tie the laces on sneakers with high instep

It is important to choose the right quality running shoes. In people with high instep, the muscles are well developed, but if the lacing is wrong, the instep of the foot often hurts. To relieve pressure while walking, lace the shoe horizontally or crosswise, passing the zip ties in the instep area. Thus, the lacing turns out to be tight and perfectly fixes the foot in shoes with a high rise.

Extreme lacing

This method is used in extreme situations by athletes or the military, when you need to quickly cut the lacing. Tied knots can be hidden inside the shoe so that they do not cling to anything. Lacing is suitable for shoes with an even number of holes (6.8) and for thin, medium laces.

How to tie:

  • pass the lace through the bottom holes and hide inside on both sides;
  • stretch one end from the inside along the entire length and take it out of the upper hole on the left;
  • pass the other through all the holes, throwing it from side to side, rising to the top row from the inside out.

Because of the tightly tightened laces, the legs get tired faster and often hurt in the calf area. Therefore, after laced up the sneakers, check if they are pressing too much in the instep: stand from toe to heel and back, or twist the ankle. If you feel uncomfortable, loosen the lacing so that you can slide your fingertip under it.

Zonal lacing

The unpretentious method of lacing in two independent parts is especially good for men's shoes. You will need two short laces. Each is tightened to the desired stiffness: the lower one is stronger, in the lifting area - weaker. Experiment with different types and colors of laces to give your sneakers a different look.

How to tie:

  • pass one lace through the bottom holes and lace with a traditional criss-cross to the middle;
  • skipping a row of holes, tie the second lace in the same way to the top.

Lacing "Railroad"

Durable lacing for a wide male leg with a high volume, which is difficult to tighten. It does not pinch the protruding part of the foot. Suitable for long, thin or flat laces.

How to tie:

  • pass the lace from the inside through the lower holes and bring out both ends;
  • lift one end of the lace (yellow) from the outside to the upper hole, pass through it, and pass it inside the left one;
  • also lift the second end up from the outside and, crossing, bring it to the horizontal hole;
  • continue lacing in this way until you reach the top holes.

A secure way to tie your shoelaces when the instep is low

If you have a wide toe and a narrow heel, and your shoes constantly chafe and slip, try locking the top of the shoe. This is done through additional holes in the ankle just above the top pair of the main row. Manufacturers of well-known brands specially sew them for low-rise legs so that they do not slip. Lacing through additional holes evenly distributes pressure in the upper area of the foot and prevents it from slipping.

  • Lace the sneakers in the usual criss-cross or other way up to the penultimate hole.
  • Pass the left end of the lace through the last hole, but do not pull it all the way, leaving a small eyelet.
  • Do the same with the right side.
  • Thread the left end into the right loop and the right end into the left loop and tie.
