To upload a photo to Instagram from a computer, you need to install an extension for Chrome, which will allow you to open the mobile version of the social network on a PC or Mac. Install the extension, select the type of device (iOS or Android) from the menu and go to Instagram.com. You will be presented with a mobile version of the site with a button for uploading photos.
- In Chrome, click on the Apps icon → then on the Web Store icon. You will be taken to the Chrome Web Store. Or simplify your task - follow the link //dx.ua/xCYLS9nSPc.
- Search for Desktop for Instagram → install this extension. It allows you to upload a photo to Instagram from a computer or laptop.
- Click on the Instagram camera icon (see action 1 in the picture) to start the extension. It will open in a new tab.
- To work with Desktop for Instagram, enter your Instagram account details → sign in to your account.
The interface of the web application is extremely simple: in the center there is a screen in the form of a smartphone with the usual set of buttons. To the right are the settings buttons. With their help, you can share a picture on social networks, open a picture in full screen or download a photo from a post to your computer (action 2).

- Click on the camera icon in the upper left corner. Or «+» at the bottom-middle of the screen (action 3).
- A Windows Explorer window will open. → Select the photo file that you want to post to Instagram.
Then follow the standard: apply filters, → enter accompanying text, → publish.
Disadvantages of the method:
- you cannot upload videos,
- photos are added only one at a time,
- batch loading and processing are not supported,
- graphic emoticons are not displayed.

- Open a new Chrome tab, → go to Instagram with your username and password.
- Pinch Ctrl + Shift + i or right-click on an empty space.
- In the menu that opens, select the Inspect item.
- Click Ctrl + Shift + M or click on the two-screen icon at the top of the window (action 1).
- A panel with icons (action 2).
- Press «+» and post a photo to Instagram from your computer. If the panel does not appear, click F5 to refresh the page, it will appear.
