A sandwich with a "sealed" filling never falls in butter down. It is easiest to prepare it in a sandwich maker.
There are four parameters for the unit:
- Power
The higher it is, the faster the dish will cook. On average, at a power of 750 W, an omelet will be baked in 3 minutes, and waffles in 10. In a powerful device - in a shorter time.
- Body material and handles latches
Plastic models are cheaper; with steel inserts - more expensive. There is not much difference between them, it is important that the plastic is thick and without a strong smell. The plates should fit snugly against each other. The latch is also possible, but do not break it with too high a structure.
- Replaceable Plates
It's bad when the panels are not removable: they are inconvenient to wash. Removable plates are made in multifunctional devices - for sandwiches, waffles and meat, grilled vegetables.
- The number of compartments and the shape of the plates
Small - 2 compartments hold only one slice of bread. It turns out 2 filled triangles. For yourself, your beloved - just right. But for a family it is better to buy a model with four compartments. It is worth considering: if you choose a sandwich maker with square or triangular elements, you will have to buy a sandwich bread brick.
Before using the sandwich maker for the first time, plug it in and warm it up well. After calcining, extraneous odors will disappear - thus, you will kill all germs.
Despite the fact that all sandwich makers have a non-stick coating, grease the panels a little with oil. The sandwich will not burn and can be easily removed from the hot plate.
What can be cooked in a sandwich maker
The best part is that in a sandwich maker you can not only experiment with bread and filling options, but also easily bake super cakes from puff pastry or thin unleavened filo dough.
Pies in a sandwich maker
Make the filling juicy. With chocolate paste, the pies are dry.
- For a sweet fill: Simmer apple slices in butter over low heat. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and drizzle with lemon juice
- Meat option: sauté mushrooms and onions. Add chicken breast pieces, spices to taste, top with sour cream and simmer until tender. When ready - season with grated cheese.
Roll out yeast-free sheet dough 2-3 mm thick.
- Cut 2 slabs of dough to fit the surface of the instrument panel.
- Place one sheet in a sandwich plate, fill each cavity with filling and cover with a second sheet.
- Close the lid and bake until the dough is browned.

Omelet in a sandwich maker
Lubricate the heated panels with oil.
- Whisk 2 eggs and milk in a bowl. Add canned vegetables, tomato slices, bell peppers, or grated cheese as desired.
- Place the meat filling in the indentations: sausages, ham or pieces of sausage. Cover with egg mixture.
After 3-4 minutes, a hearty snack is ready.

Waffles in a sandwich maker
The speed at which waffles are prepared depends on the recipe. I share my signature - fast and tasty.
- Take 4 eggs and separate the yolks from the whites. Whisk the whites with a pinch of salt and set aside.
- Beat the yolks with 70 g of sugar. Add 150 g sour cream, 300 ml cream 30% fat, a pinch of salt.
- Sift 300 g of flour there and add a teaspoon of baking powder. Stir with a spatula (not with a mixer!) - this will make the waffles more fluffy.
- Turn on the sandwich maker to warm it up properly.
- Pour in 120 g of melted butter and 1.5 tablespoons of brandy - it will act as a preservative and give the waffles additional splendor.
- Gently whisk the whipped egg whites into the dough and bake.
I advise you to fry a portion for one tea party. The next day, the waffles will be like rubber. The rest of the dough is perfectly stored in the refrigerator for a day or two.
