ELECTRIC BOILER OR CONVECTORS - which is better and more economical than an electric boiler or a convector

Before heating with electrical appliances, you need to strengthen or update the wiring in the house. Otherwise, it will knock out an introductory machine on the meter, because the permitted power in the house is not unlimited. In addition, energy-intensive appliances that run for hours put a strain on the wiring. Therefore, there is a high probability of wire burnout, short circuit or fire.

We'll have to install a multi-tariff meter to use the cheap night tariff. Otherwise, it is not profitable to be heated with electricity.

Decide for yourself how many heaters you need - 4 or 6.

  • If you need four devices, then it is better not to mess with the electric boiler and piping. It is more expedient to do with heaters.
  • Five devices - this is a reason for thought: a convector or an electric boiler.
  • If there are six heaters, it is better to install the boiler. It will be more economically profitable this way.

What is the practicality of the boiler

It is better to connect the electrical unit to the buffer tank and integrate it into the hydraulic system. The buffer tank (heat accumulator) is a capacious metal barrel for water. It is insulated, so it works like a thermos: it retains heat and distributes it throughout the heating system.

It is better to heat this barrel at a night rate so that the boiler does not work during the day. It will not be possible to stock up on power in an electric convector, there is no such possibility.

  • When it is cold outside, it is easier to set the exact temperature in the boiler for the whole house. A floor or wall heater only controls the air temperature in a single room.
  • The electric boiler can be controlled remotely via SMS. This option is available on many models. Convectors can also be controlled. But for this you need to combine all the heaters into a single network and connect to a controller that responds to remote commands. And these are unnecessary complications and costs.

Convector privileges

  1. They instantly warm up and literally in a minute they begin to give off heat. While the boiler heats up the water and the batteries warm up, "the cancer will whistle five times."
  2. Convectors are safe. Many models have a thermostat that turns off the device as soon as the air in the room warms up to the set temperature.

It is better to install heaters with an electronic thermostat in rooms. These are more accurate to maintain the temperature. And Noirot and Applimo, for example, also have a six-year warranty.

It is better to install heaters with a mechanical thermostat in the corridor, kitchen and bathroom (the same Electrolux, Gorenje). They have an error of 1-3 degrees, but in such rooms it is not important. And no matter what the temperature outside the window. If it is extremely cold, the thermostat will turn off the heating element of the heater less often, and the room will be constantly warm.

What is better electric boiler or convector: conclusions

In terms of upfront costs, heaters only benefit when plugged into an outlet.

  1. The cost of good electric convectors and boilers is about the same.
  2. The electrical network that will have to be connected to each device will cost the same as the piping costs.

In other cases, the prices for them are approximately the same in comparison with the boiler and the hydraulic network. The boiler is slightly more expensive. But the perceived high cost pays off in the first year of operation.
