How does the air conditioner work?
The air conditioner, whether it be a split system or a mobile monoblock, is arranged as follows:
- Air intake. Draws in air that needs cooling.
- Cooling unit. The incoming air passes through a network of pipes in which the refrigerant evaporates. During evaporation, the refrigerant intensively absorbs heat, cooling the pipes and the air in contact with them.
- Heat removal unit. Here, the gaseous refrigerant condenses back to a liquid state, releasing the absorbed heat. The tubes heated by it are washed with air, which is removed from the room.
- Compressor. It pumps refrigerant through the pipes.
To remove warm air in mobile air conditioners, a flexible pipe is used - an air duct, the end of which is led out into the street.

Experts are skeptical about the idea of calling these devices air conditioners:
