HOW TO CHOOSE A CONSTRUCTION CAR - which one-wheel or two-wheel wheelbarrow is better

How to choose a construction wheelbarrow

Seen enough of different cars. There were all sorts of things: the axles were loose, the wheels were lowered, the body cracked in the place of the bend ... But I wanted a "tenacious" one, because I was looking for a construction site. Finally I found a Forte WB6418-1S with a carrying capacity of up to 320 kg and took it. I thought it would be enough for two years, but I was wrong. After 2 days, the bearings on the wheels "flew". Of course, I fixed the breakage.

"Runs" so far, has already transported 5 tons of sand in a week, now I am finishing the foundation for the house. The wheelbarrow is durable. If used with the head, it will last a long time. Well, out of all this gimmick, I have deduced for myself a universal formula to navigate how to choose a construction wheelbarrow. Look at these parameters.

Frame

Should bend around the trough to support the back and front. Look at the height of the racks.

  • The taller ones have a low clearance between the stand and the ground. You will hit an obstacle, you will cling and jump.
  • Working with a low wheelbarrow does not load your back.

There should be no welds on the frame. Otherwise, it is not a construction, but a garden model, which can only transport vegetables and fruits, and not rubble and bricks.

Body

  • The trapezoidal (sloped) sump distributes weights evenly, thereby reducing the stress on the arms. It's easier to work, you don't get tired so quickly. Take a reinforced wheelbarrow (with stiffening ribs) so that the iron is certainly 1 mm thick, not less. And the iron "nose" stuck out behind the trough and protected the pallet from deformation when the wheelbarrow was overturned forward.
  • The square trough is more spacious, but larger. It will not pass through every opening.

Check the wheelbarrow for strength

Roll over on its side and push on the body in different places. If the metal bends, then there is a gap. Do not buy.

Pens

Look at the width of the diverging handles.

  • With a narrow opening, even a slender uncle will not seem a little. You will hit the handle when pushing and when cornering.
  • With wide grip spread, there is more freedom to maneuver.

Wheels

There are cast, inflatable, large - with a disc diameter of 350-450 mm. Inflatable wheels on a metal rim are the most practical. They pass through any terrain, do not load and withstand more weight than cast ones.

The bearings are easy to move. But sometimes they need to be lubricated so that they do not creak and serve longer.

Which car is better one-wheeled or two-wheeled

- with 1 wheel - maneuverable, but you have to keep it on the weight, your arms and back get tired quickly. The cost is two to three times cheaper than two-wheeled models. A good option if you are carrying cargo along narrow and winding paths;

- with 2 wheels - stable, you will load more on this one and you will not get bogged down on the dirt road. Reliable thing!

I do not regret that I bought a construction Forte. It does not tip over and can withstand heavy loads. Already tested 100 times. I think the car will last more than one year. Before the onset of cold weather, I will wash it, grease the bearings in the wheels and cover it with a tarpaulin. Let it stand and wait in the wings.
