Review of ceramic electric kettles.

A new trend has emerged on the market of electric kettles presented by us: the use of ceramics as a material for the body of the device.

But not every manufacturer has yet decided to produce this type of electric kettle. If two years ago it was possible to find only two or three models equipped with a ceramic case, today there are already much more of them - about 30 models. That is, the development of a new direction is visible.

What to choose: external beauty or internal purity?

The use of modern advertising PR technologies will probably convince everyone that it is impossible to use plastic electric kettles: when boiling water, various chemicals pass from plastic to water, and then we drink such water and poison ourselves a little. And, supposedly, it is better to use glass, steel or ceramic electric kettles.

But at the same time, when advertising, they forget that an electric kettle is a complex technical device that must be certified and made of thermal plastic, safe in contact with water and various products, and also be resistant to high temperatures.

If you decide to buy yourself an electric kettle with a plastic case on the local market, and you do not know its place of origin, and it costs a little more than 50 hryvnia, then you can be sure that during the operation of such a device, you can expect “surprises”. The specific taste of water can be the smallest "gift" for you. The main thing is that while using such an electric kettle there is no fire in your house.

The ceramic teapot is presented as environmentally friendly. In advertising brochures they write that ceramics helps to preserve all the beneficial properties of water, that it is a natural material, that if you purchased such a device, it means that you take care of your health and the health of your family and friends. First you need to understand each of the points above. What is so useful in water that we cannot live without it?

The water does not contain various vitamins, but it does contain dissolved minerals. This is especially true for hard water. During boiling, some of these minerals settle and form a sediment at the bottom of any electric kettle body. Most of these impurities are not beneficial to our body. These include heavy metals, inorganic iron, and various chlorine compounds. We are trying to remove all these components from the water using various filters.

Natural material means that there is no chemical component in ceramics. But glass and steel are also natural materials.

It should be noted that the various gaskets, joints, scale indicating the water level and other elements are made of plastic material. Users of such ceramic electric kettles also complain about the presence of an unpleasant odor in the water. In other words, one can question this kind of "health concern."

This does not mean that they are bad devices, it is just that their positive aspects are not that they are made from environmentally friendly materials. Everything is simpler: they have a beautiful appearance. We are all already accustomed to the modern external high-tech look and sometimes we are tired of it, we want something home, more comfort and tenderness. Such models are more likely to evoke corresponding associations and positive emotions in us.

They have beautiful colors, they look very home-like, and sometimes it seems that they even warm the soul, and not just the water. They are painted in the Gzhel style, there are bright flowers, various traces in the form of prints of cat paws, and Chinese motifs. It may seem to some that the choice is not great, but nowadays this is enough.

You can find such models of devices, which even include a tea set (a cup and a teapot). Such a kit is offered by Rolsen (models Rolsen RK-1008CGS, Rolsen RK-1209CS, Rolsen RK-1210CS). But the Tefal company offers a strainer and a cup in its set.

If your kitchen is made in country style, then these ceramic electric kettles will only complement your interior. The French manufacturer Tefal has a special classic model Tefal KO 7001 Classic. It suits any style of kitchen.

We make sacrifices for the sake of beauty.

Thanks to their body, ceramic electric kettles also have some disadvantages.

First, they require careful handling. Although the manufacturers assure us that the case is extremely durable.

Secondly, such devices bring water to a boil much more slowly. On average, one liter of water boils in 6 minutes. The maximum volume of a kettle is usually 1.2 liters. From this we can conclude: this amount of water will be enough only for a company of four people. Although there is an exception to this rule: the company Vitek can find a model of a kettle, the volume of which is already 1.7 liters (Vitek VT-1157).

It should also be noted that such devices are small in volume, but their weight is heavy. Therefore, when choosing such a model, it is recommended to pay attention to the ergonomics of the handle itself. If, holding an empty kettle in your hands, you feel any inconvenience, then when you fill it with water, the discomfort can only increase. Reading various reviews, you can also note that the ceramic handles on most models can get very hot.

We note the pluses.

Of course, beauty for us is sometimes an indisputable and main advantage. But besides this quality, there are other points that can be distinguished. Ceramic teapots can keep warm for much longer. This property is also characteristic of any ceramic cookware.

Due to the properties of the ceramic material, heating occurs slowly, but the distribution of heat is more even and the cooling process of such a kettle body is much slower than a device with a plastic or steel body. Also, such models are less noisy during operation. This is made possible by the thick ceramic walls, which are good at absorbing noise.

Consume ceramic electric kettles much less than conventional electric kettles. Usually this value is 1-1.25 kW. Whereas for the "brother" this figure is 2-2.2 kW. In this case, we are not talking about savings, since the boiling time is about 2 times longer than usual. In other words, the difference is compensated.

But on the other hand, the load on the network when turned on at the same time is much less. This is a plus for rooms with poor wiring. What is relevant, for example, in the country. Of course, you can find models of much higher power. Examples of such powerful devices are models from Tefal and Vitek, as well as the Perfezza TC-838 electric kettle, whose power is 2.2 kW.

All models on the market meet all modern requirements: they can rotate around their axis 360 degrees, they have a wireless connection through the central contact, and there is also a compartment for storing the cord.

So as not to be left with a nose.

It is possible to adjust the heating temperature of such ceramic devices. This allows you to select the desired mode when brewing different types of tea: black, green and white.

In this case, it is recommended not to focus on low cost when choosing, but to stop at the manufacturer.Otherwise, you can fall for the low quality device of the copying companies.

For example, Polaris has been producing devices of this class for several years now and has extensive experience and developments in design and manufacture. The service is well established at this company.

Ceramic electric kettles from the official manufacturer have a heating element that is necessarily closed, but in devices that copy the original models, they often have an open heating element (spiral).

Where did ceramic teapots originate?

If you study the entire range of models of devices of this class, you will immediately notice that they are somewhat similar to each other. Sometimes they differ in appearance, shape, different ornament or pattern, but still there is some similarity, as if one master had his hand to them.

The original designs of the models can only be found from Tefal (model KO 7001 Classic) and Vitek (model VT-1157). Do not forget that not every manufacturer has their own ceramic production. From this we can conclude that mainly companies resort to cooperation with other enterprises that specialize in performing such work.

An example of such an enterprise is a factory located in China, Zhongshan Longde Plastic Electric Appliances Manufacturing Co. Reading the information about this manufacturer, you can find out the following: that class A ceramics are used in the manufacture of ceramic devices. Such devices are durable, lightweight and easy to maintain.

Among the advantages, they also highlight resistance to corrosion, the inner walls are smooth without cracks and cracks. Also, during the manufacture, a special patented glue is used, which does not affect the taste and smell of water during the operation of the kettle.

From all of the above, one conclusion can be drawn: when choosing a ceramic electric kettle, pay attention to the quality of workmanship and least of all succumb to the influence of various advertising slogans. Enjoy your shopping in the online store F.ua.com.ua.
