LG will unveil the world's thinnest OLED monitor.

In the near future, Berlin will host an international exhibition called IFA 2010. Many companies producing goods in the consumer electronics industry will present new technical solutions and developments in the field of electronic devices at this exhibition. The Korean company LG will also showcase many different innovations. But the most interesting of them can be considered the presentation of the world's thinnest monitor with a matrix based on OLED technology. The presented monitor will be equipped with a screen with a diagonal of 31 inches and will support work in 3D and 2D modes. In this case, in the 2D mode, the image on the screen will be refreshed at a record frequency of 600 hertz.

The new monitor will have austere design and ergonomic shape. The main advantage of monitors based on OLED technology is that individually backlit diodes are used to provide backlighting, while LCD monitors use crystal backlighting. This allows you to achieve a better display of the picture displayed on the monitor screen, as well as achieve a smaller device size. The thickness of the presented monitor is only 2.9 millimeters. Another positive aspect of monitors based on OLED technology is their low power consumption and high level of image brightness.

At the moment, monitors and TVs based on this technology are not very common due to the high cost. The company has not yet announced what price will be set for this monitor, but according to unofficial data, the price could be approximately five thousand US dollars.
