Review of Nokia E60

As you know, Nokia offers its E-series models as solutions for business. The first of the phones in this line is Nokia E60. It is based on the Symbian 9.1 operating system, which allows the user to significantly expand the capabilities of the device by installing new applications.

The case is made in the monoblock form factor and at first glance it seems a little elongated in length. The display and keyboard are framed by a chrome-plated metal bezel, the rest of the case is made of silver plastic. In general, the dimensions of the device are much larger than average, it will look more appropriate in a man's hand than in a woman's.

16 million colors

Nokia E60 has an amazing display. Not only is its resolution 352x416 pixels (like the Nokia N90), but it also demonstrates 16 million colors. In the pictures, literally every point, every pixel is traced.

In standby mode, six quick access menu items are displayed. Reminders are shown below, which is very convenient - just look at the display, and you can immediately see what needs to be done. One of the innovations is the display of the clock in analog mode - it looks beautiful and unusual. On the whole, the keyboard is good, there is only one button - access to the menu, which raises complaints. In our opinion, it is too small, so when you click on it, you should be sniper-accurate. The rest of the keys are medium-sized, and working with them brings nothing but pleasure. In the middle of the joystick there is a small recess where your finger rests comfortably - this ensures comfortable operation, as it does not slip off.

The main menu here is traditional for Nokia smartphones. The shortcut of the newly installed application initially goes there, then it can be moved to any other folder. Unfortunately, the shortcut menu cannot be customized to your liking. Despite the fact that this is a business-class phone, it also has multimedia functions. For example, a media player that can play not only music, but also videos in MPEG-4 and RealVideo formats.

Business

E60 has applications for viewing Word and Excel documents. It is equipped with such data transmission technologies as WAP, GPRS and EDGE. To communicate with the outside world, you can use infrared, Bluetooth and even Wi-Fi. The phone supports multitasking - the ability to work in parallel through one connection of several programs (for example, a browser and e-mail). One of the interesting features of this device is the ability to voice the name of the caller. For example, if a subscriber who is saved in the address book as Sergey calls you, Nokia E60 will "say": Sergey. And only then the ringtone will sound. Summary The phone more than justifies its price tag. It is intended primarily for business users - it is not for nothing that it lacks a built-in camera. The rest of the functionality is excellent, especially we liked the great screen and the presence of every imaginable wireless interface.
