DESIGN
The design is quite academic. It has all the best from the classic "clamshell". At the same time, the style is quite neutral - the Z530i is equally suitable for men and women of any age. In principle, the only thing that distinguishes Mulan from real mainstream design is the loop antenna that came into fashion a couple of years ago.
The ergonomics of the case are very good. The phone fits snugly in your hand, it can be easily opened and closed with one hand.
The keyboard looks extravagant - either mother-of-pearl coins, or pearl scales ... Everything is not so good with the ergonomics of the interior - blindly feeling the alphanumeric keys, and even more so, the small round buttons of the switch and calling up the quick menu is not a task for the faint of heart.
FUNCTIONALITY
This is how the functionality became customary, especially in business tasks, the SE is at its best. In addition to the standard SMS, EMS and MMS package, there is also a complete set of IrDA, Bluetooth, E-mail client, GPRS (Class 10), WAP (ver. 2.0) - pay attention - everything is of the highest quality. But that's not all: there is also support for the "push e-mail" standard and, most importantly, USB Mass Storage. Any form of Internet access and connection with a computer to choose from. It's hard to get used to the fact that such an armor-piercing kit has become almost a standard for Sony Ericsson.
All wired communications are made through the universal Fast Port connector. The use of a new standard memory card - Memory Stick Micro - in this segment was a complete surprise. The price for M2 cards does not differ from the Memory Stick Duo Pro. This is good news.
The manufacturer has declared hot replacement of the card, but real access to it is possible only after removing the battery cover. At first glance, this looks like a problem, but operating with a card directly from a computer using USB Mass Storage is much easier than removing and rearranging it physically. You will rarely disturb the card.
A fly in the ointment in this "triumph of technology" is a weak VGA-camera. At the present time, such cameras are installed for video calls as auxiliary or unclaimed functions. Alas, the photo has become an auxiliary function for Sony Ericsson Z530i.
RESULTS
Such modest displays were supposed to make the Mulan very economical. The test sample showed average autonomy. We failed to make the Z530i work without recharging for more than three days.
The ringtones are loud, the vibrating alert is average in strength. Voice communication raises no objections. In general, the phone turned out to be amusing and controversial. Much can be forgiven for the great business functionality, but the display and camera are still upsetting.
Advantages - Thoughtful outdoor design, communication capabilities, high business equipment
Disadvantages - Weak camera, display could be better
ALTERNATIVE
Fly MX200
Fly's product, similar in characteristics, has no less functionality, but is equipped with a better screen. The rest of the products are similar - the choice will be based purely on design preferences.
