MEAT GRINDER WHAT IS BETTER - reviews, electric meat grinder which is better

Some electric meat grinders have a maximum power of 3.5 thousand watts. This is too much! Even if you twist minced meat from second-rate meat, 1.4-1.6 thousand watts are enough. Such meat grinders cope with veins and cartilages without problems. Or maybe they can't, let's check it out.

I tested 6 models of different power: Saturn, Belwar Assistant, Bosch, Panasonic, Moulinex, Kenwood. I found out for myself their strengths and weaknesses, but did not set myself the goal of comparing them with each other.

When I tested the devices, I used a grid of medium diameter (4.5 mm). For each meat grinder I took a kilogram of fresh beef without bones, but with veins. Cut the meat into pieces of ≈3x3 cm and - to work! In the process, I measured the time it took for the unit to cope with the task and the noise level.

All models performed well. The minced meat turned out to be finely chopped and homogeneous. Electric grinders make noise no louder than a vacuum cleaner, up to 86 dB. The quietest: Bosch and Moulinex. Although it is difficult to imagine working quietly. After all, this is not a clock, but a noisy unit.

Before washing the meat grinder, I took a closer look at how much meat is wound around the auger.

  • Belwar Assistant disappointed. There is a lot of meat left inside.
  • Bosch and Kenwood are clean. I found only the remnants of veins on the grating.

Which meat grinder is better: conclusion

During testing, I noticed 4 patterns.

The more powerful the meat grinder, the faster it chops meat.

The low-powered Saturn and Belwar turned the minced meat in almost 5 minutes. And the powerful Bosch, Moulinex and Kenwood coped, on average, in 3 minutes.

The price of the device depends on the power and equipment

Stronger units cost 2 times more. It's good if the perforated discs and knife are made of stainless steel - like Panasonic's. They are washed in the dishwasher, they do not darken.

Most electric meat grinders are equipped with sausage attachments and kebbe attachments. Bosch also has a third - a slicer grater. And Belvar, in addition to attachments for sausages, "Kebbe" and slicers, come with two additional ones - for pancakes and for tomatoes / berries. So you can do without a juicer. For spins - for sure!

Coarse, standard and fine minced meat is rolled through grids with holes of different diameters. It doesn't matter to me, but gourmets know a lot about this. You can't argue with them.

Reverse helps out when the auger jams

Stringy meat is difficult to process, but it is possible. The meat grinder will push out the jammed pieces using reverse (reverse scrolling). The mechanical one would have to be disassembled or the handle turned back. With electricity, everything is solved at the touch of a button. True, Panasonic and Moulinex do not have such functionality. Bad.

Attachments are lost if not stored with the grinder

Bosch has a storage compartment for forming discs and automatic cord rewinding. As they say, yours is always with you. And that's perfect. I think you will agree with me.

  • The Kenwood meat grinder has nowhere to hide the attachments, there is only a compartment for storing the cord.
  • For the rest of the tested models, we had to find a place in the cabinets to store the attachments.

I have a definite impression of the operation of the instruments. See in the table which meat grinder is the best of the six.

Not suitable for vegetables: juice can enter the engine and damage it.

It is Bosch that is the best meat grinder of the models I have tested. It is the fastest, relatively quiet, attachments are conveniently stored in one place with the device. Panasonic and Moulinex units are worth buying. Even if their complete set does not provide for additional attachments and there is no reverse, but the assembly is reliable, without plastic parts. Meat grinders grind the meat into a homogeneous mince without a hitch.

Which meat grinder is better: reviews

As they say: trust, but verify. Therefore, I went to the forums to read the responses to these grinders, and once again make sure that my judgments are correct. Here's what users write.

Saturn ST-FP7093K

Denis Terrasport: «Has been working for 5 months already. He cuts bread, onions, meat into cutlets with a bang! I really liked it, especially for that kind of money».

ketzas84: «I chopped boiled potatoes, so it turned out to be a super puree! I bought a tomato nozzle in addition, so I wound it up for the winter. When working for a long time, the case heats up, just in case I took breaks».

Belvar Assistant KEM-36 / 220-4 33

Lapinsky Vitaly: «Tried shredding - fine, but no effort is needed, otherwise the knives may bend. It is difficult to wash (you need a ruff!), Steel knives, rust. I wipe them off and grease them with vegetable oil».

Bardt Natalia: «We have been using it for 3 years. Twists without problems meat (including frozen), veins, bacon, onions, tomatoes, meat film. Grumbles and twists, enough power. Minced meat is juicy. The details do not play, the knives are sharpened by themselves, the film does not wrap. But the plastic nozzle on the screw tightening the nozzle broke off (the screw itself is in order), so it makes noise. And so they did not regret that they bought».

Panasonic MK-MG1300WTQ

Alexander Sundeev: «It is a must see how she grinds meat! The speed of the auger, the performance is excellent ... At the same time, neither splashes nor meat rags fly to the sides. Works cleanly, quietly. The whole working mechanism is made of metal, self-sharpening knives, class!».

aleksandratolina: «The main parts are made of stainless steel. Over time, they did not darken or fade.».

Moulinex HV2 ME2081

Sitnik Valentina: «Rіzhe everything, except for kistok. I am crushed more rock, plastic is not dark. Knives».

Anjey: «The gap between the tray and the neck with a backlash, will flow when processing vegetables and berries».

Bosch MFW3640A Compact Power

AnnGell: «The knife is sharp and double-sided, no matter which side to install it. Copes with any meat - frozen and defrosted. Potatoes rub on potato pancakes at first speed. It is advisable to cut smaller, and not throw it whole, it turns out faster and no effort is needed. I use all the other graters in the second mode.».

Turivnoy Andrey: «In order for the meat grinder to twist and not crush, you need to wisely tighten the nut and not tighten the auger very tightly. The meat itself tightens, grinds even with veins».

Kenwood MG 450

mac1683: «This meat grinder has a very high quality knife. Cast, not punching. It is advisable to give to sharpen before starting operation, then it will cut like a hot blade on oil».

evgenia.spes: «The device is noisy. But NOT louder than a blender, food processor and vacuum cleaner».
