WIRELESS CHARGING - Qi induction charger for any mobile phone, tablet

Believe it or not, your school physics teacher told you about this. And in general, the phenomenon itself has been known to mankind for more than a century. The essence is very simple: an alternating electromagnetic field excites an electric current in closed conductors. The charger creates a field, and the current is generated in a special coil of the mobile phone. Further it is clear - the current charges the battery.

The second name for contactless charging is induction charging, since it is based on the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction.

How effective is this charging method? The efficiency of wired charging is 75-90%, wireless - 80%. Not bad. But with an increase in the distance to charging, the electromagnetic field weakens, moreover, significantly. 50 cm is already bad, and at a distance of 1 m, you can not even hope that your one-day super smart will live longer than usual. Better to put the phone directly on the charger or next to it.

What is Qi Standard

Qi is the unified international standard for wireless charging of mobile devices. It was developed by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), which includes all the giants of "smart building" - Apple, Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC, Asus, Nokia, Microsoft, Blackberry, Motorola, Panasonic, as well as IKEA, Duracell, Energizer and over a hundred others. This means that wireless charging from any manufacturer will work with any phone.

Qi - qi, a Chinese word that means invisible life energy circulating in the universe.

Qi allows the charger to recognize various devices, determine their charge level, optimally charge the batteries and turn off in time to save energy. In terms of value for consumers, the adoption of Qi is comparable to the standardization of the micro-usb connector, thanks to which we no longer wander in search of a charger with the right connector.

Impact of wireless charging on human health

Representatives of the WPC have repeatedly stated that the radiation used in wireless charging devices is not ionizing, and therefore it is absolutely safe for human life and health.

In other words, they wanted to say that no radioactive radiation is generated during charging. An interesting argument - akin to "earthquakes don't happen." We know that a powerful electromagnetic field disrupts the functioning of the body. Personal chargers create a low power field, so you shouldn't be afraid of them. But such "monsters" as the Cota stations, which charge within a radius of 10 meters, are alarming.

Prospects for Qi

Civilized countries are planning to equip train stations, airports, cafes, clubs and other public places with Qi terminals. At London Heathrow Airport, you can charge your phone "over the air" today.
